140mm travel rear travel, 51mm stroke....what measurement in mm on the shaft do i need to run 25% sag? I put the o ring against the lip, sit on with clobber on and measure from the lip to the oring right? So what is the magic measurement I need in mm?

Its not magic, its called maths = 25% of its stroke !

(If you still dont get it multiply 51mm by 0.25)
(Or divide it in half, and half again)

Thats a lot of Sag, are you sure you want that much ? What are you doing with it, DH ? slackening the head angle ? lowering your BB ? making a chopper ?

25% is the start point. Fine tune follows.

Send o ring to the told get on bike and stand in the attack position either have a mate check or get off gently. Adjust and repeat. Do it with pro pedal off. Pop pump in bag and tweak as you go. It will depend on you the bike what and how you ride.

No. The stroke is the length the shock moves, it may not be the same as the length of the shaft.

You need to start at say 15% for XC and see how it feels for you and your style. More sag (like 25%) will slacken the headangle, reduces BB height, reduce the rear travel, change the way the bike pedals.

Its not a magic number you just dial in. You really need to find what works for you and your bike. If you dont want to bother with experimenting just set it at 15% and go riding.
