Anyone use any of the Thule rear-mounted racks and still tow a trailer with it on? It's possible we might be getting a MPV and I won't be able to get on the roof!

You can fit a rack to the top of a trailer

That's an option, not sure I fancy my Titus fastened to the trailer though.

what druidh says + use back of trailer and use a wall mounted one @ £5-10 from a hardware shop or you can crush your bikes with the trailer when you turn corners!!!or have a very long trailer and it will be rubbish to tow.

That's why I was looking at those high-mointed ones and wondered if the trailer would happily turn under it. Perhaps an MPV isn't the way to go.

Why can't you put the bike on top of an MPV? Just open the door and stand on the door sill. (It works for me and I'm only 5'7")

Mate of mine has/ had one and it was a case of standing on seats to get them on, will have to see.

There are also some fancy roof mounted racks which you attach the bike to - and then they sort of "cantilever" on to the roof.

Or take the wheels off the bike and put it in the trailer?

Sorry - just trying to come up with some alternatives for you.

Hopefully as the kids get bigger we'll need less space for the camping kit etc in the trailer/ car etc. I looked at all sorts of trailers and went for one with extendable sides so there is the option to stick the kid(s) bikes in there. It's just mine and the missus and then the canoe! Families and the amount of kit you take on hols eh!
