I have run out of adjustment on the barrel adjuster on the shifter and there isn't one on the rear mech, Do i just back of the adjuster, loosen the clamp and pull the cable tighter at the mech end?

Yes, once the chain is in the smallest gear out back.

Thanks 🙂 Mountain bike tech has moved on so much since I last spannered one, I've always had adjusters on the mech as well as the shifter.
