Hi guys,

Having a lot of difficulty trying to mount a 2.35 high roller onto a ztr arch ex rim. This is literally impossible. I'm just using some PTFE tape and there is a small tube in it. Is there an incompatibility issue or do I just need to be stronger?

Any tire mounting help would be much appreciated.

Many thanks,

Chris

its a tubeless rim, so just use Stans yellow tape and no tube.

And its 'tyre', not 'tire' here.

Technique- you need to get the tyre right down into the well in the centre of the rim. Easier to do one side with no tube in, then fit the tube and do the other.

I have exactly that combo on my bike. Fitted really easy , just like all my other Stans rims and various Maxxis tyres.

like has been said above, are you using yellow tape?

try putting the tyre on with a tube, leave overnight, remove one bead only, remove tube and re-inflate

Do I understand this right; you're using PTFE tape instead of Stan's tape and trying to get the tyre to mount on the rim..? If so, I'd have thought that the PTFE tape just simply isn't robust enough to seal the rim.

Hi, what exactly is the yellow tape? I'm only using PTFE tape because I don't have any other options! It is just unbelievably tight, the tyre is a LUST one. Am I trying to do something impossible?

My apologies for saying tire instead of tyre, I can never remember what I'm meant to use as a British person.

Guys, so just to be sure, all you need is that yellow tape and that is it?

I really need this to work by tomorrow and don't have yellow tape. Here is what I do have:

1 x green rim strip (definitely not airtight)
1 x joe's no flats rim strip (basically a 20" inner tube cut open)
a load of sealant.

Will this work?

In the future is this all I need

1 x yellow tape
a load of sealant?

Many thanks

Is it electrical tape you have? A few runs of that and a tubeless valve and it'll work. Use the heel of your hand to push it on, not thumbs.
