Will I die? Hope braided hose. Will I be able to get the barb out without damaging it? Please.

I've re-used barbs and olives from Shimano hoses a couple of times when I haven't had a spare, though my favoured technique for retrieval involves the gas hob in the kitchen and some pliers. This is likely to work less well on braided hose.

I've re used Hope olives and barbs loads of times.
Just be careful you don't open the olive up too much and snap it in half.

I'd rather reuse a hope Olive than a shimano one. Done it loads of times and only snapped a couple. If they don't snap, it works fine.

Barb is easy enough. Olives are usually a pain but Hope ones are split aren't they? In which case it's bad practice but will probably be fine.

The "much" older Hope olives were notched, NOT spaced.... therefore you had to slice the notch through with a fine blade hacksaw.

The current ones are just fine to use again, just give them a gentle nudge with a flat blade screwdriver.......

Sorted!
