I'm buying a (road) frame I've lusted after for years but sadly in a hideous colour way.

Anyone stripped/bead blasted a frame and kept it that way or semi polished it? (like Turner raw finish). Did you lacquer it? It won't get used in winter or even rain, so corrosion hopefully not an issue.

Raw aluminium will anodise and go furry over time. I'd have thought a clear lacquer coating would be your best bet.

You'll not mind getting a scratched one then - since you're gonna strip it anyway? ๐Ÿ˜‰

Yup, needs to be laquered in some way (or anodised).

Spray it pink, attach a white chain guard and front wicker basket

Have just stripped the paint off a alu frame and am looking to polish it before laquering.

Goog - What did you use to get a good polished finish

Anyone - what sort of laquer do I need.

Cheers
