But Ragley Ti and Blue Pig (and mmmbop) have same geometry.

So no point buying the expensive Ti version then......

There's a difference between "not much point" and "no point".

Bigdummy - best laugh I've had for ages.

Uncle John always reckoned red was faster.

It's £1040 according to Chain Reaction 😉

ChrisS - you've never shown me your Raliegh Activator - you normally bring the nicer bikes out when I come round!

Pink is faster [FACT] as shown by 1.5% respondees to an online survey. Ride a pink back through certain areas and you'll ride as fast as you can to avoid brick/air rifles/guns in Manchester

So in essence your paying £1,000- £1,500 for ti material when joe public cant even notice the 'spring' difference between two types of metals.....The Blue Pig seems like a bargain compared then (thumbs up)

I rode the Blue Pig down "The Blue Pig" if that's any help. I rode it down Pecket Well B as well.

You'll be fine. Just remember not to hang too far off the back, and make sure you send it.....preferably to Jesus.

it'll go like a bike. don't worry about it. reasonable price, and the frame material is an alloy of magnesium, silicon, and marketing.

if you'd had ordered a DH frame for xc, or a carbon road frame for freeridin' on, then you'd have been in trouble.

There are loads of reasons to buy the Ti one:
* A Ti frame should last longer;
* It looks ace; I love the finish on the Ti frame;
* It's £3 a day extra, if you keep it for three years;
* If you sell your bikes on after five minutes, the Ti one should keep its value better;
* The Ti is lighter than the Blue Pig, and should be springier than the Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm Bop;
* It's Ti!

I'd get the Blue Pig, if I wasn't a big gayer, because I'm cheap/tight, but I can see why someone would get the Ti version.

But is a whole different kettle of fish when it does break....

* If you sell your bikes on after five minutes, the Ti one should keep its value better;

But 20% of £1000 is £200 and 40% of £250 is £100, so you still loose more money......

I'm still gobsmacked from sunday aft. Going up Pecket Well was two quad bikes, a trails bike and........a very very old Scrambler bike (not one of those repos). The lad was wearing those Wallace and Gromit helmets and dodgy looking road tyres- cant beleive he made it!

Too many variables IMO.

Personally I'd prefer to spend abit more, say 500-600 for something abit lighter than a lump of cro-mo but not the ti price. I bet there are frames out there made of Columbus/853/Ox etc that would be a perfectly good proposition rather than the silly ti-price now.

I went into a watch shop recently and the salesman told me the watch had titanium on it. Whoopy-do. Its more plentiful than steel isnt it?!
