[Closed] Radon bikes - anyone ever heard of them?

Hi,
I am interested in purchasing my first road bike.
Specifically this model:
http://www.radon-bikes.de/xist4c/web/R1 ... 20685_.htm
Or my second choice would be:
http://www.radon-bikes.de/xist4c/web/RPS_id_20683_.htm
I was wondering if anyone has any experience of these bikes? There are a few tests on-line but unfortunately I don’t speak German and the Google translate function wasn’t much help!

Being my first road bike I don’t want anything to uncomfortable!

I’m approx. 170cm short with a 77 cm inseam. I’ve tried a couple of bikes and seem to fit a 53-54cam effective top tube. I was thinking of going for the 53cm frame.
I would really appreciate any help or advice.
Thanks,
Donncha.

A mate has a 29'er hardtail - changed a few bits on it once bought (forks and wheels). He swears by it, really likes it and regularly kicks by behind on it.

I have an R1 that I built up with some cheap Columbus forks from merlin and some planet x model B wheels.

It cost me less than £500 all in with a mix of groupset bits ranging from Tiagra up to Ultegra (bargain ultegra brakes on merlin!)

It is amazing for the money. Very very very comfortable due to the thin/curvy chainstays, and the columbus forks are top.

I think bike-discount.de are possibly the main supplier (?) I emailed them to ask the difference between the R1 and the RPS and they said that the geometry is the same, but the R1 is much lighter.

I'm near york, you're more than welcome to come have a look at mine if you want to see one before you buy, but at £100 for the frame you really can't do any better!

EDIT: sorry, its 100EUR for the frame, £77 at todays rate!

I was looking at the RPS on bike-discount too, but may consider the R1 frame now though and build it up.

Thanks for the reples.

Mr. Jez,
how did you find the sizing? According to the geo I think should be on the 53cm but based on their calulator (inseam x .665) I should be on the 50cm which is sold out.

Glad to hear they are comfortable. It was the rear stays and short head tube I was worried about!
