I have long been a fan of RRs but sadly, the time is getting near when my (old style) ones are just showing their not inconsiderable age and may have to be retired. Is the new pattern as good as the old?
I run these in 2.4 as an all year round tyre. So.... go for new RRs or is there anything else worth considering as a similarly light, fast but grippy XC tyre that comes in 2.4?
The new RRs are brilliant, and a much better all-rounder than the old version was, better than NN's IMO. I use my 2.25s all year round too, getting more traction in the mud than people running 'mud' tyres.
I agree that the new one is far far better than the old, and I think it rather treads on the toes of the Nobby Nic.
Well I thought the old ones were the dog's gonads so if the new ones are better...... decision made!
