Need to replace the Race Face X-type BB on my fatbike, am I right in thinking I can just buy a Deore HT2 and fit it as a straight swap? Looking online some people say that I might need different spindle spacers, anyone know for certain?

I've used a race face crank with a shimano bb, both 24mm axles so should work fine.
Raceface have had a couple of different standards over the years but my aeffects are fitted with a shimano BB and work perfectly- followed the RF fitting guide without any changes

What is the BB width on a fat bike, are they different to a normal mtb eg. 73mm ?
There's a few fatbike "standards", probably 100mm is the most common? But you've got to measure really.
Yeah, 100mm BB she'll width. As long as the cups take up the same space, the gap between shouldn't matter.
