....use it with an XT Hollowtech II Bottom Bracket as my RF one has just died and this would seem the best value BB at less than £30 on Merlin ?? 🙄

Yes. Both the Shimano HT II and RF parts will work. I found the Hope BB has lastest the longest on my bikes (also used with a RF Evolve crankset).
