Hello

I just tried installing a some XT cranks, on my Race Face BB, but they sort of stopped the last 1/3 when i inserted them, should i try a gentle bash???

I must admit that the Race Face BB, got some new bearing pressed in 4 years ago, got it done somewhere in UK, cant remember where(still running smooth, so would be nice to still use the BB)

Or should i get a Shimano BB ?

Thanks

Jesper

Should be compatible, they're supposed to be a tight fit on the axle, so usually require a bit of gentle persuasion.

I thought Race Face wuld be ISIS and Shimano Octalink? Shouldn't fit, or am I wrong?

Theres an insert which you have to wiggle past or you push it out, like I did, Saint Cranks on a RaceFace BB, on mine it was a plastic insert, that the shaft of the cranks past through, pushed into the bearing on mine.

Think we're talking X-type/HT2 here, ISIS/Octalink definitely not compatible.

My father has XT cranks on a race face hollowtech BB. He thought it wouldn't fit, so I told him to try again, and sure enough, it was just a bit tight. Shouldn't be any problem.
