I'm not having any luck finding a race/ event rack that is big enough for only four bikes. I want it for holidays so I'm not leaning the families bikes against the caravan, easily locked up with cables etc. Only ones I can find are huge and don't seem to have the option of shortening.

Park Tool Event Stand is just about perfect for 4-5 bikes if you just use one (of the two supplied) crosspieces without the connector. Very solid construction, we use them for our hire bikes and they work well.
Cheers both, the Park is the kind of thing I'm after so it can go across one end of an awning.
