Sorry to drag this up again...

If I stop on a climb that is a segment, does this count against my time, or is it timed only when moving?

I did an epic climb today, really went for it, over taking other riders (this is rare for me!) and kept a good speed, only to have to stop for temporary traffic lights for ages 3/4 up.

Does this explain my slooooow time for that segment or was I actually really slow?

Thanks

I think unless you have your gps set to autostop when stationary it'll include that time too?

i hold the slowest recorded climb on a fairly famous local hill, as i stopped in the pub 3/4 of the way up for an hour and a quarter.

garmin was paused and all sorts.

funny really.

Irrespective of auto start/stop Strava seems to time from start to finish. Makes the London segments even harder to get unless you RLJ.

Thought as much! Nevermind it'll have to be a world record beating, land speed olympic mega record in my head only.

But I'll still wear my kind of the mountains jersey!

I'm pretty sure it takes the time as a whole. I guess as if you were riding a long climb you could stop halfway have a bit of a rest and hammering the 2nd half. I have done a downhill segment which took 5 mins to descend and the recorded time was around 9 mins. This was due to stopping right at the start as one of the group had fallen off just trying to get on his bike, therefore 4 mins of the segment were spent mocking him for falling off before we'd even got going. I think it does tell you moving and resting time on the segments.

Pub stop.

think i took about 18 mins that day (which would have put me on pg 3 of the table anyways - although the top bit was post pub!)

don't go up there often enough to have set another time yet, so i remain bottom. almost proud of it though. im the only cyclist out of 127 on strava to have gone to the pub!
