Is this way of eating to be used for an indefinate amount of time, or just until you get down to your required weight, so that when you've reached that point, you could then start to slowly introduce back in some of the banned foods, like porridge and fruit etc.

Can be done for the rest of your life, "they" say.
I think the point of it is it's a healthy way to feed yourself that is also good for weight loss, should weight loss be required, rather than a way to lose weight.
