Good morning all.

My friend is doing a wee tour later this and will go in past Glentress. He is generally a road biker but, as many years ago, we did the Glentress 7, he fancies a day at Glentress.

As he only has road bikes now, he is considering simply hiring a bike whilst there.

He is seriously considering getting back into MTB's (work C2W) so ideally would like to rent/demo something half decent at the same time, perhaps even...an Ebike.

So...any recommendations for bike hire?

I don't know about eBikes, but the main bike shop (alpine bikes) beside the cafe at the bottom of Glentress did me a very nice full sus trek a few years ago - suggest giving them a call.

Alpine Bikes at Glentress tend to have some pretty nice bikes in the rental fleet. From what I remember, the top end ones are advertised as demo bikes rather than rental. Everything is listed on the website including sizes & availability so probably worth a look rather than calling.
If Santa Cruz is of interest then Ridelines in Innerleithen might be worth a look. Not sure if the do hire without guiding though.
I beleive that icycles (also in Innerleithen) do some top end rentals as well.

Alpine do everything from hardtails to full suss e-bikes.
All are well looked after.

Turbo Levo comp will be £90 for a day.

I bought their last ex demo 3 weeks ago for my missus.

Pretty impressive tbh.
