building up my ti croix de fer and looking at a sram xx chainset on offer at CRC. Arm length is good but only come is 156 q factor. can anyone enlighten me as to what this will mean as for the last 25yrs of building bikes q factors never really factored.
Ta
What Q factor are your current cranks, what Q factor were the various cranks you have had over the last 25 years?
If you don't know then you may well have already used 156. 156 is not large for an MTB so shouldn't be a problem.
ahh, just went with length, 170 road 175 for mtb, never really thought about the Q factor.
most mtb chain sets are circa 170, XTR and XX have a narrower option. Issues tend to be chain stay clearance. Road bikes are narrower, i think my Campag cranks are around 145mm.
*A difference which i notice and don't like, if i find sensibly priced MTB cranks i might swap.
