Hiya
Anyone been to Bagnere de Bigorre in the Pyrenees? How difficult is it to follow VTT routes without a guide if you want to spend the day biking without getting lost?

Have tried to get some VTT maps from the tourist office in Bigorre but no luck yet, I may decide to buy a GPS. Have only every used one in the car but have been recommended Memory Map Adventurer. Can you recommend one? Would be useful if the Pyrenees Map was included as well.

Any info on either?? Ta ๐Ÿ˜€

Hi,
There are some maps on the Internet although you need to read French to find them!
Here is the Website for the MTB trails in Bagnere de Bigorre:
- Overview of the trails:

- Detailed maps: http://www.bagneresdebigorre-lamongie.com/fr_et/v-t-t.php
(scroll down a bit and click on VTT 1, VTT 2, etc...)

If you have a car there are more trails around Bagnere.
Here is the Website of the French cycling federation with links to the different mountain bike sites: http://www.ffc.fr/a_VTT/a_SitesVTT/index.asp.

I've got the Memory Map adventurer btw. So far so good although you need to read the documentation carefully before starting since it's not always user friendly but once set up no worries.
I think you can buy IGN French maps (equivalent of the OS maps for the UK).

Enjoy your ride(s)!

Manu
