I bought ISO energy powder from H&B and used half the stated dose and I feel it made the difference on my ride i.e I didnt feel tired.

Is this 'cheating'? Races only stuff?

I felt like I was cheating but unlike SIS Go I didnt have a rusty brown tap afterwards..

Ps. Checked the ingredients-Maltodextrin but sadly no EPO..

Not sure why you think you were cheating

if it works for you then what is the problem here?

There's no such thing as cheating on a social group ride surely. ๐Ÿ˜•

Make sure you clean your Camelbak afterwards though - they can go pretty manky with that stuff in there.

Not too sure I want to find out exactly what a rusty brown tap is.

If it makes your rides more enjoyable, why not? It's not that different to drinking fruit juice or pop or something, and no-one would be bothered by that.

Hora I'm loving that you defended Lance to the death, yet think that drinking an energy drink is cheating!!! ๐Ÿ™‚

Just make sure you clean your camelbak very thoroughly as I found it can make them manky very quick. I only use water in mine now days.

It is cheating. Having food / drink while riding allows you to ride for further faster. And what's the point in that hey?
Wait, no, that's why I ride....

It does mean you don't earn your post-ride cake. And unearned cake is always crumbly and dry.

I only use Torq on long rides or weekends away when I want to ride for as long as possible (that's what she said).

Rinse camelback out and store in freezer to prevent mank/green stuff forming.

I had a caffeine energy gel once at the start of Spooky woods once, I wasn't any faster, but I do remember giggling like a schoolgirl on it.

strange stuff, never use it on anything other than long hot roadies.

I prefer to use water in the camelback and a bottle of stuff (for longer rides) for when I need a boost,
mainly because I don't end up with a manky bladder, and in the long run water has less calories than energy stuff so riding my bike might help me to weigh a bit less..
Allthough on 60+ mile road rides a full fat Coke and a bag of Walkers ready salted is better than epo..IMO.

Edit

It does mean you don't earn your post-ride cake. And unearned cake is always crumbly and dry

That is sooo true. Heed the cakey wisdom.. ๐Ÿ˜€

It's not cheating , but if you don't clean it thoroughly after each ride it is a fast way to a very sore stomach. I only put water in mine , but I do carry a couple of gels or shot bloks which have the same effect.
