Sitting here repairing a few tubes,

Wondering what the greatest number of patches anyone has?

In my pile one has 10 patches and a couple 8.

impressed, I think I draw the line at about 5. And don't tend to bother with big snake bites either. Feel very wasteful now though...

What are these tubes you speak of?

Dunno, I used to patch them until they got two holes with overlapping patches.

I think there's about 5 on one of our pushchair wheels at the mo! It's only about 9" in diameter, so they'll be all joined up soon. ๐Ÿ™‚

23 was the most I ever counted.

I don't really count. Just pick up new tubes when I'm feeling flush and they're there in front of me. But probably average around 5, maybe a little more.

I repair until I can't repair any more, usually when it splits.

I can't believe that some folk always replace, they deserve a landfill in their garden.

16 is my highest. Not really on purpose just never got round to changing it. In the end a couple of previous repair patches had bunched up and one started leaking.

21 on a bmx tube. Could have taken a few more but the valve went.

I just had to throw a tube out the other day as the valve was pulled out, it had about 20 patches on it and I realised that I'd had the tube since 1999.

I have three patches on the front and four on the back of my MTB after the first ride in months! My roadie has had one flat in nearly 4000km....

Ran out of patches once so used a waterproof plaster. Worked a treat.

Reaches for somthing wood then , I've not had a flat in three or four years
Mostly tubeless or gp 4000s on the road bike

But never used to patch more than two or three

I put the 11th patch on yesterday (on the side of a previous patch), but I also fitted the third tire in as many rides.
