Thinking about getting a cheap 2nd hand DJ bike for a laugh and whilst there is loads of stuff local to me at the moment, I'm looking to move to the Skipton / Silsden / Ilkley area in the near future and was wondering if there was much worth riding around there... Any hints?

Also, if you have a 26" steel frame jump bike w/ suspension fork that won't break the bank give me a shout.

Esholt Woods near Shipley / Guiseley has some decent stuff being built

Maybe a bit far but still reachable from Silsden. Train station opens next year at Apperley Bridge so you will be able to train it down

There was talk of a pump track being built as part of the TdF legacy in Aireville Park Skipton

http://www.cravenherald.co.uk/news/10697893.Wishlist_for_Aireville_Park_backed_by_Craven_District_Council/

But it may go the same way as the ambitious plans for a climbing wall in the same venue (ie disappear without trace).

Same in Bingley, There were council plans for some trail with jumps, rollers and pump track in one of the parks, but the local NIMBY's have effectively kiboshed it.
The only place I know of is Buck Woods, Idle or Gisburn Forest

And the pump track / skills loop at Thackley is decent

Have a look for esholt dig and ride collective on FB. They'll know a fair bit and they're nice folk

There's some decent cheeky dirt jumps in Adel woods between Leeds and Otley.

I learned to jump / drop off in those woods when I got my first mountain bike. There's a car park right by them as well for added convenience.

FYI, Thackley and Buck Woods are the same place.

There's a really old and frankly knackered PT at Stainburn which one day we will re-build but who knows when.

Pump track at Thackley is ok but needs some work on it now. Yeadon bmx is good.
Some jumping to be had in Shipley glen quarry. Don't know anywhere else that side.

Bottom of Peel Park Bradford has a decent bmx / pump track , bigger than Thackley or Yeadon Tarn.
