Giro Merit Spherical Dirt Helmet — bananaindustries#
a very nice £200 helmet for £49.99 (+ postage), my old montaro can be retired now.
Syntace 29er wheelset at Sport and Leisure. Boost, XD driver, 1860g, 28mm internal, intended use XC/Trail/Enduro. Not sure they're worth the claimed £800 RRP but they're currently £220/pair. I got them in a PSA a few months ago to keep as spares so not yet used them, they're very nicely finished indeed.

Can’t argue with the vfm:
Check out this ÄNGSLILJA from IKEA.
Here’s a little more information:

If you don’t mind the white logos there are good deals on Continental enduro tyres.
Thanks for this Rofbury, bargain price and perfect timing for me! 😎
Are the white logos just because they're OEM or something? What's the difference between those and the 'normal' ones?
Anyway, DT Rev spokes for a penny at Banana Industries. Possibly useless sizes?
Thanks for the Lidl shout out. Got two cheap workhorses as I'm bored of working off wheelie bins, plus a couple of quick clamps and a set of HSS drill bits as lots of mine have gone AWOL or been destroyed over the years.
Hunt have a good sale one.
I couldn't find another set of wheels that could compete on price when compared to the spec.

Standard SRAM Eagle GX mech for £49.99 at Planet X. Works with the 50t and 52t cassettes.
Oneup V3 dropper with 99 Euro off, I couldn't turn it down
Seen a few online clothing places with sales on.
Huub (although they have as many sales as DFS).

Fab. Now I can own a base layer that's
Developed to create a unique surface reaction disrupting the body's boundary layer, the Aero-Bridge Undervest delivers the most effective solution to significant speed gains. Utilising HUUB's patented 'Aero-Bridge' technology, it is another HUUB first that is available to all athletes to help release their potential on the road or track.
The base layer creates dynamic surface reactions to trip the boundary layer of air flowing over the cylinders of the body (biceps & forearms). The result is significant aerodynamic savings, even greater than traditional textured fabrics
And the best part about it is not as you might be imagining the dynamic surface recrions, it's the fact that it's half price!
Now only £74.99
https://huubdesign.com/products/aero-bridge-undervest-blue-white
Is that actually a thing?
Sorry, not knocking the PSA. There's some good prices for what I guess is decent kit. But surely the marketing bollox is turned up to eleven on that.
It's half price cos it's only half a base layer
I think the issue is that there are strict limits on the use of "mixed materials" in cycle clothing at the competition level. This probably gets around that by being a different garment?
That OS Maps offer stacked for me through to Jul 2027. OS Maps App updated straight after refreshing the page.
Cheers @cp
FYI those that followed up the OS Maps offers:
I recently had an email from OS Maps saying my subs were due on 24 July! I rang them up and they said the email was sent in error and my subs are stacked to July 2027.
It's probably a niche. But huub have sponsored amateurs taking on the world track scene and winning it. They know a bit about being aero. It is probably only for sale because the track team need it to be for the regs.
Sadly looks like Stif bikes are getting closer to shutting.
Good news is there's a lot of stuff with big discounts.

There's a load more but some are random sizes like rotors and clothing. Also some savings on Santa Cruz and GT bikes.
Thanks for the links to Stif. Di2 wires for 99p!
Yeah cheers there's some good bargains there, just got some five ten trail cross, tld gloves, fox jersey, and a 1.1 UDH dropout for my squatch for £92 next day delivery. Shorty v2s are only £35 and they actually have good casings and compounds left, bargain.
Cheers for the Stif PSA. Just spent more than I'd care to admit on some clothing, a new dropper, bars and some consumables/service items. They're items I've been actively looking for in the last few weeks but hadn't pulled the trigger due to cost.
Looking through Stif PSA. Five ten freerider EPS mid for £59 - surely that's a bargain.

Some awesome offerings for kids helmets there on Stif.
@ kuman, they're (IMO) not very good. Warm when dry but they wet out easily, not good for most UK conditions. YMMV, I think this might be partly a QC issue, not everyone has it but a bunch of people do, one of mine is worse than the other!
But the DLX at £50 if it fits is a good un, that's an excellent UK shoe, just a normal freerider with a little more weather protection. It's basically only about as weatherproof as the EPS but that's more useful in a non-winter shoe. If they had my size I'd probably buy 2 sets 😛

Does that apply to the mid-size on offer here? I have the normal Freerider EPS and have exactly the problem you stated, it's nice and warm but once moisture gets in the top the shoes gets wet through. And then can take days to dry out. But I thought the mid or high version could partially solve that by preventing water ingress around the heel.
There's also some ex demo / ex display bikes in their bike outlet. Mainly Santa Cruz and GT bikes

Never tried an argotal so seems a good time to try, thanks
Currently have argotals on the front and xynotals on the rear of both bikes, but £15 os silly cheap not to buy spares.
Also have a 27.5 rear from merlin ready for winter
Zwift Cog & Click (virtual gears) is currently £10 with code TOUR2025.
Aaand the Argotals from Banana aren't enduro soft. They're trail endurance. And going back

Bother.
Haven't received mine yet because seemingly, DPD were unable to deliver to the post office at 2am from what I can make out from the 4 thousand emails they've sent.
Same here, they sent a returns label quickly. Looks like the listing has changed now to trail endurance so they did realise eventually.
They were promoting them pretty hard as enduro softs too and n socials.
Are the Argotals in Trail Endurance that bad? Is it the casing or the compound?
In terms of the tread, they don't feel too dissimilar to a Kryptotal Enduro soft. Maybe a bit firmer but still quite tacky.
Are they worth having as a trail tyre for winter? Or do I send them back. I tend to use MaxxGrip on the front or more recently, a T9. The Argotal feels firmer than the MaxxGrip and less tacky than the T9
As I specifically wanted them as spares for the current Enduro Soft Argotals I have, in that respect they are bad. The casing would probably be OK, but I think the compound would be too hard for what I want. I would want as soft a compound as possible on the front, especially in winter when there's less residual grip to start with.
I have had good results with Schwalbe Marys in Trail casing and Addix Soft, but wouldn't want to go harder compound on them, either.
Zwift Cog & Click (virtual gears) is currently £10 with code TOUR2025.
Sadly that doesn't seem to work any more.

was showing as out of stock when I looked. guess it was a mistake.
Are the Argotals in Trail Endurance that bad? Is it the casing or the compound?
IMO the casing's actually good, it's not tough enough for me but it does well for its weight (I can <almost> get away with the trail krypto on the back of a full suss, which unscientifically puts it above exo and pretty much on par with exo+, probably). For a lot of people it'll be fine, and probably better than a lot of others in its class
I haven't used the trail argo but imo the tread-and-compound balance of the soft argotal is what makes it so bloody good, it's not perfect but it's better than most... but if anything the soft is just a little on the firm side considering how capable the tread is, you run out of rubber grip before you run out of tread grip, especially when things get greasy but still firm, like they have been here this week.
I'm not sure I can see much point in a tyre that knobbly with less sticky rubber, you'll get the drag of the knobs but not the overall grip, every tyre's as grippy as its worst component and if you're actually using the grip of the tread hard and then you hit a slimy rock or something, maybe you just die. There'll be specific cases where it works great, I'm sure.
(stealth ad but I'll have an enduro soft for sale shortly, they're really good but I've fallen in love with the highroller 3, it's slower but it can do anything)

Aaand the Argotals from Banana aren't enduro soft. They're trail endurance. And going back
Ordered 3 of these which arrived today (via parcel forwarding service from UK). The packing slip says Enduro soft, there aren't any labels with the tyres and I can't see any markings on the Tyre to indicate if they're Trail endurance or Enduro soft. Is there any way I identify which I have? Won't be going back but might determine if they go on the front or rear wheel. Thanks in advance for any help.
