Ooh, kind-of relieved they don't have my size.

Only just ordered another pair of the standard Trailcross XT mid from them for £42.

Really good shoes.

Off topic, but there's an Open Day at the Boat Building Academy in Lyme Regis tomorrow (Saturday 27th April) from 11 til 4. Various displays of boats & furniture,  plus Charlie's wooden bike!

The Fraser brand and all it's offspring are notoriously poor at descriptions.

IIRC they had some issues with inconsistent colours or something? My stem arrived, tbh it's not quite perfect, there's a little burr from the cnc that's been coated over, nothing troublesome but it's the sort of thing that should be caught before the coating for sure. Just a wee niggle though.

TBH considering how scarce really short stems are, and how much they tend to cost, I'm still very happy, it'll not be obvious once fitted.

I know that they are more road orientated but lecol have got 40% off at the moment and with some careful Strava work you can then also get a £50  off voucher which you can stack on top

You might say that this brings their prices back down to where they probably should be !

You may need to be a member of their cycling club to take advantage, but I think you just need to register.

Not sure if this is allowed but Paul Aston has a comp for a Lal Drive equipped Nicolai on his comp site. Odds are under 400:1 at the moment to win a £12k package. I'm not affiliated, just wouldn't like to see him taking a bath on this one given the investment.

I'm fairly sure that it's a daft idea to raffle off a very idiosyncratic size/spec bike is daft but . . . . I'm just in it for the fork/brakes/stem.

Although a great price, I think I'd rather the GX groupset and Level brakes, although a bit more expensive.

The only great experience I've ever had with Shimano brakes is with the cheap ones, with no Servowave. Also, aren't those xt cranks bonded?

Actually thinking about it, the SLX would probably be a better bet.

£120 reduced to £37 for some acid yellow running shoes.

Have house of Fraser just gobbled up loads of shoes to sell them cheap? I have had 4 pairs of five ten and now a pair of runners, possibly for the price of one pair full price

Very wrong.

I'll try that again!

@tall_martin

My assumption was that Adidas have followed the bike industry in massively over producing outdoor gear. Fraser group shop have had loads of 5-10 and Terrex stuff cheap. Some real bargains in goretex gear if you can live with the crazy colours!

Decided to get a coil fork for my hello dave, pretty happy with this at about half price retail

Nice, I've had the ribbon air on a hello Dave for 3 years. Every time I've opened it to service it it is spotless inside. It gets regularly ridden in slop.

Not sure if it's awesome seals or fitting the biggest mudguard I could find.

I keep thinking about the coil version, but the air is great.

@ tall_martin

Apparently you can convert the air to coil.

Really I should have bought a Lyrik, especially as they're similar money to the Ribbon, they're also lighter and stiffer. But I fancy a coil fork, I used to have a Fox Vanilla on my Orange 5 back in the day and loved it. Hopefully it's not all nostalgia about how good coil forks perform.

Shimano XTR M9100 Front And Rear Disc Brake Set £249 @ Merlin

https://www.merlincycles.com/shimano-xtr-m9100-front-and-rear-disc-brake-set-146004.html

Thats a good price. You can pay 200 or near abouts for a single brake.

I have the same on my loco moto, suits it perfectly, I really rate mine, it's a wee bit basic but that doesn't matter so much when it does the things it does well. And the weight for a coil fork is pretty impressive.

The Giro site has a sale on with some very cheap shoes and helmets.  https://www.giro.co.uk/collections/sale/filtered?page=2&filter_pf_t_discipline=discipline%3Aroad

I've just got some shoes for £9 and a road lid for £17. Both orders went through but I'm slightly sceptical someone might have got the discount button wrong!

Size 45.5 Empire SLX at £3.59!! Can't be right, but who knows.

Stuff that will fit me there, bargain basement prices, but I've got such bargain fatigue now that I'm out I think.

Yeah, helmet inserts for £200+. I wonder if they’ll cancel all the orders. I’ve ordered £460 worth of shoes in various sizes to try for £50. 🤷‍♂️

I've just ordered DND Gloves for £8.99 from the Giro website. There are indeed some strange price variations.

giro won’t let order proceed.  Doesn’t like a UK shipping address.  Tried to pay via cc, PayPal and Apple Pay but no shipping country in drop down.

I can confirm it won't ship to a UK address now.... I suspect either the shopping system has started to block countries based upon unusual patterns or they've simply just turned off the UK for now. I wouldn't be surprised if they end up cancelling orders

If it's any consolation every pair of the three Giro shoes I've tried over the years (one pair branded Rapha, one other road pair and one MTB pair) have been stupidly narrow.
