I know its okay for me to share the codes, i've done it loads before for freinds..
Just wasn't sure if it was okay to get people to message me and ask for it, or advertise I have them on here.. ☺️
Can't see the cheap tyres at Bird. I have however found a discounted Aether 9C frame in a rather fetching green (discounted because of 'imperfect paint').
I presume the tyres are sold out.

Looking for deals on a 30.9 dropper. Sods law left the fire sale bargains thinking the current post was all good. It’s now decided to typically die on me! Been a while since the last purchase so what’s the best shouts atm?Cheers
OneUp selling off the V2 dropper on their site, as V3 has launched, you might get lucky. I need one too, but I delayed and the one I need now out of stock. Gah.
Does any know of any decent gravel tyre bargains kicking around? 700 x 40 for probably 70/30 road light gravel work in a tubeless flavour.
Bought some G One All Rounds 700 x 40 and they're skinnier and shorter than the 700 x 38's they were supposed to be replacing....
Several gravel tyre options on banana industries site cheap
Gutted I missed out on those Shortys, would have stocked up for the DH bikes
If anyone’s after a large 29er (or medium 27.5) enduro bike, Paul’s Cycles have the top of the range 2023 Rocky Mountain Altitude at £4.5k down from £12.5k
Bought a couple of tyres from Bird, cheers for the link.
There are also good tyre deals at Banana Industries

Anyone seen any bargains on rear lights? Mine bounced off the other night 🙁 . I thought there'd be some decently reduced ones now it's getting out of lights season but I've not seen any particularly tempting deals.
Planet X was always my go to for cheap lights, they only seem to have these now:

But look decent for a tenner.
These look great but for twenty quid you could have two of the above.

Tweeks had some Vittorias for £25ish each, e.g. https://www.tweekscycles.com/vittoria-terreno-dry-gravel-tyre-2015053/
For Vittoria Terreno tyres, I'd not use anything but the G2 types as they have the better carcus and rubber.
These are cheaper with the G2 compound and Anthracite side walls
Vittoria Terreno Dry TNT G2.0 Tyre: Anth/Black/Black 700X38C https://amzn.eu/d/3gGNG1r
They look like decent lights but in my experience you're better to have two cheaper lights fitted (one flashing and one steady) than a single more expensive light, plus is one fails you have a spare.
I've tried quite a few rear lights over the years and if you ride regularly in the winter in the UK then you'll be lucky to get a single year out of them. This is irrespective of cost or IP rating, they all leak and die at some point IME.
Wouldn't touch Moon lights with a barge pole. I've had 3 Meteor C1's and all have failed in around 6 months. Great battery life on it though.
Whereas we've 3x sets of Moon, one set used daily for commuting and Deliveroo for 3 years, and they're same as the day they were bought...
Some decent prices on Maxxis tyres over at Bird.
Bit of a more general spring clean seems to be on https://www.bird.bike/product-category/outlet/
Not everything is a PSA worthy but some things like 27.5" forks around the £500 mark, Hope/DT wheelsets £300.
Just picked up some heavily discounted Alpinestars waterproofs at: Alpinestars MTB Clothing (sportpursuit.com)
Thanks for the light tips. I've had two Moon lights and I'm 50:50 on whether I rate them or not. I might buy the one @dchwhite recommended as a deciding vote 🙂 .
My Moon rear light has done 4 winters of daily commuting and is still going strong.
I've realised I need a gilet for road cycling (after many years of wondering why people bothered).
Any deals on now that I should try out (or any recommendations)?
Try sportpursuit off you have joined. They had rapha stuff on sale last time I looked
if it hasn't been mentioned, unite components on 50% off everything
get your short cranks in
The Unite website is only showing prices in dollars for some reason. I've no VPN and have deleted my cookies for the site, so I'm not sure if the price for the pedals is good or not.
Those Unite cranks are showing as 150 quid and 300 quid RRP. I may have missed it but I've never seen their cranks with that RRP, aren't they usually around 200? Or have Unite gone all DFS sale price on us?
IIRC always been around 250 with a higher RRP.
Just checked an old (18 months old) review and it stated they were 240 RRP. Think I'll go for Middleburns...
Thanks for the heads up on Unite, don't think the "rrp" is real tbf but it's still a decent saving on a lot of the stuff, got me a teeny tiny stem that I nearly paid £70 for a few weeks back
Yeh I caved as well and just bought cranks and chainring 😂
I’ve realised I need a gilet for road cycling (after many years of wondering why people bothered).
For a classic roadie gilet (windproof front, vented rear) you really don't need fancy materials. The very cheap ones I've got work just as well as the expensive stuff.
Is it Unite Shimano rings that are a bit shite?
Edit: ah no, I think that was Burgtec
With gilets worn on the road, a tight fit is essential IME. Other wise you can be deafened by it's rustling on a fast descent.
I'd be getting an Altura one if price was your primary factor.

I had one of those and really liked it, I ripped it to shreds climbing a barbed wire fence 😞
I see the double post thing is back.
Green & Blacks Mayan Gold and 60% cocoa with ginger, 2 bars for £1.50 at Barry’s Bargains, Consett.
Absolutely banging deals on Specialized Tyres, and tonnes of other Specialized kit.
Available everywhere as Spesh fix the pricing of their retailers, but on their website as an example -
2.4 Purgatory T9 Grid for the front (mid weight, very sticky), & a 2.4 Purgatory T9 (Strong, full Exo+ style puncture belt, less sticky) for £41 delivered is really good.

Mavic on Sport Pursuit atm. Proper close-fitting roadie cut ime. I have one from years ago that's basically my alpine descent gilet. Not the most breathable fabric out there, but doesn't really matter tbh. I guess the current fabric may be better in that respect.
Just a heads up about the Specialized sale.
There are both new and old Purgatory tread designs on offer. Newer is reported to be way better in every way - old chevron tread design has been radically changed to more widely spaced knobs and more aggressive side knobs with a squared off profile. It’s not a subtle redesign.
old version was fine as a rear on unchallenging trail centres, but was useless on anything vaguely steep, techy or loose. New one looks much more useful as a faster rolling rear for harder use, or could make a fast rolling less aggressive front. Just make sure which one you’re buying.
