Mike Ashley needs to hang his head in shame. The guys a disgrace, especially with his zero hour contracts, is he still getting away with that.

But you still bought his cheap deal bike ?

I don't tend to use them. Last time was when they were selling off Stumpy Expert STs a couple of years ago.

Then and now, so far,  its seemed to go smooth both with Customer Services and the store. Cant pick it up till tea time so hopefully it will be smooth then.

Few things to swapping out once we get round to it.

Why don't you email him with your concerns. I'm sure he'll be be devastated. He comes across as such a sensitive chap.

It was that cheap, I suspect they were selling at cost so wouldn't be making any profit out if me.

However I'm so annoyed at their shocking service, I've just cancelled it. Won't be using Evans again.

I wouldn't waste my time on such a pathetic man. Order now cancelled. After reading up last night on how he runs the company, I don't want to give them a penny.

He pay have lots of money but you clearly can't buy morals or decency.

Photo dosent do it justice. Its like an ice grey gloss. Not as nice as my blue 🤣 one but it looks really good.

Contemplating which spare Sixth Element wheels are going on it. They are stealth black but do have the option of swapping out for Abigales ones with red decals 🤔

Mine hasnt arrived yet. Tracking info shows it at Rhyl DX depot.

Evans CS emailed me to say that it would be in the shop on monday. This surprised me as i ordered it to my house....we shall see.

What parts are you swapping out Tracey?

All the parts we are swapping out are from what we have

Bars and stem to Burgtec carbon and Deity stem.

Code RS to RSC

Wheels to Sixth Element carbon either stealth or red graphics will fit and see which looks good

Tyres to Grid Gavity compound

Going to get it invisiframed

Rest will be as standard.

Fingers crossed he will be fit to ride in Finale in September

Is that the Barnsley branch @tracey ? I’m shocked that store is still open, whenever I’ve popped in it’s been dead!

Yes  I didn't even know it existed  Last time we picked one up was from Sheffield. Couldn't fault the store or the staff.

Has everybody got theres now?

Mine turned up yday at 8pm after their website said no delivery after 6pm. The box looked tired, but had protected the bike.

Are you all keeping them standard? I habe some Hope Tech 4 in both E4 and V4 sat in the garage. However the rotors are 200 and 180, not the 220 and 200 that the Codes have. Not sure whether to swap the Codes for Hopes.

Also in the garage are some Haven carbon bars that are 760mm. They are 35mm diam but as i havent run 35mm bars before im not sure what to do.

Any other thoughts before i ride it? Are the wheelsets ok?

Thanks

Ian

I've got Code R's on my 25kg Kenevo and with my 85kg sat on top of it, they stop me fine with 200 front and back. I do like Hope brakes though

Can't comment on the bars, I'm running the Specialized standard bars at 800mm and they are fine

Again  - Roval Traverse on the Kenevo and they could do with a true, I lost a spoke and they have the odd minor ding, but have held up as well as any wheelset over 5 years riding the Peak and Derbyshire Dales. Had some Roval Traversee years ago that were rubbish, but these are much better

Just get out and ride it 😉

Well ive got as far as making it tubeless. It went up super easily.

I just want to tape the top tube and i will be ready for my maiden voyage.

I got delayed yday as the shifti g in my stand was awful. I traced it to a loose Allen bolt that holds the cage onto he mech body. Normal order has now been resumed.

The main issue with Roval wheels is that when it comes to replacing the bearings, the lock ring can fuse into the hub body. If that happens it’s a warranty job. Make sure you register your bike with Specialized.

Code RSCs are great brakes. Code RS not quite as good. Code R less so again.

Looking for a bit of advice on the sizing for this bike.......A smidge under 6ft tall, S4 looks good but can also fit an S5.

Favour the S4 for UK riding and occasional Dyfi or similar. Anyone else same height, what size did you go for?

Kevin is 6ft and rides a S4 Stumpy and went with the S4 Enduro in the Evans deal. He's sat on it and it feels right.

Unfortunately had an incident whilst we were away in the Alps and as such won't be riding it in the next 3 to 6 months 🤞

Don't know how he's going to sit still in Finale whilst I'm out riding at the end of September

Seems these can be pre-ordered at same price for end of month delivery? Or will they just jack the price back up when they arrive?

Thank you Tracey - just what I needed to know, now ordered for, hopefully, delivery early September.

Healing vibes to Kevin!

Picked it up from been Invisiframed and a few swaps at 18 Bikes this morning on our way to see the Consultant. Just the wheels to swap out.

Operation next week means he won't be riding this year

They have made a first class job of the Invisiframe. Colour is stunning

Anyone else had issues with the shock on theirs?

Mine made squishy/sloshy sounds on receipt, after several compressions it would die down and the rebound and firm lever seemed to be ok.

Now after just 100 miles use it appears to be worse, persistent and the firm lever doesn't seem to have effect. Planning to send off for warranty consideration.

Sounds like it just needs a service. Mind that the shock could well have been put together a couple of years ago now, but I'd expect you'll get it sorted no problem (I'd try and deal directly with Fox though)

Known issue with the post 2021 Fox X2, pretty sure they replace the internals with 2024 when they warranty them.

Any Fox stuff has been done for me through Silverfish/Fox and really effective service.

Silverfish are ok (better for warranty than a paying customer ime) but there's a new Fox Service Centre to try instead: https://www.ridefox.com/service.php?m=bike

Thank you - I know where to send it (21-23 X2's are for the new service centre)

Was interested if anyone else who bought one of these had similar especially with so little use.

Just thought I'd say the Fox service centre is really good if you do ever need it. Had my Fox fork booked in. Dropped off in person (I work nearby). Woke up the next day to a knock at the door, and it was DPD returning my freshly serviced and fixed fork.<br />Took me a month to get a Rockshox fork back.

This is what those shocks are notorious for doing. You’re certainly not alone
