Alright guys, this seems a pretty good price (£3399) for a full carbon bike on fox perf elite etc.

https://www.evanscycles.com/brand/specialized/enduro-expert-2022-mountain-bike-910239#colcode=91023902

If I hadn't built a bike last year I'd be very tempted.

You can get the Kenevo SL with 50% off in some Specialized Dealers too (Harrogate concept store, Inifinity Cycles), in store only, works out at 3850.

We are out in the Alps and Kevin has just said the same. He's been looking for a Stumpy Evo frame to replace his S Works Stumpy but thats a great price. The colour looks better in the flesh as a German guy parked next to us in Livingo had the S Works in the same colour.

They might have gone by the time he decides 🤔

Very good price!

What is the margin on that bike?

Are Specialized cool with this?

There are a few bargains out there as the post pandemic bike surge cools, I imagine it sucks for the smaller & medium sized brands

Rutland cycles also have good deals on Kenevo SL. They had the yellow SL expert for £4750 when I was there last week.

I was really tempted but my friends are all on full fat ebikes and I need something more powerful.

9point8 Slack-r? Not the answer you wanted though, you want a new Enduro Expert

I ride my Enduro all over regularly swapping between that and the Turbo Levo.

Levo hasn't been out of the van this holiday and have done quite a bit of climbing.

Not going to move the Stumpy on until he's sure on the Enduro

Right..I'm keeping the stumpy (it's just too good!) and have bought the Slack-R (which funnily enough I found via google beofre it was sugegsted here!).
That's 3 and a bit grand saved!!!

DrP

Edit for more info... Basically it's 'almost' an enduro anyway... it's got the cascade link and 160mm factory 36 up front... and it's lovely and light..about 14kg.. suits me well!

But if you'd bought the Enduro for £3399 you'd be SAVING £3101.

What is it that you don't understand about man-maths?

True!!

TBH..thinking sensibly, 170mm travel is far too much for my riding!

There’s a fair bit of this going on, Sigma have ridiculously priced ‘22 Occams and discounted ‘23 models as well already.

You'd be better questioning whether regular specialized dealers (as opposed to those now owned by specialized like Infinity) are ok with Specialized selling their eebs at half price.

bought the Slack-R

@DrP report back once fitted please. Tempted by one for my Rise but not sure that a) I really need it or b) that my Rise needs another potentially creaky interface.

Cant believe how tempted I am by this..... i want a long travel bike and the price is nuts.

BUT I only just sold my Spec Enduro a couple of years ago. It was ok downhill but actuallly not a patch on my Occam. Everywhere else it was much worse.
And the not insignificant fact that it ate 4 - yes 4 rear shocks under warranty before I'd even replaced the chain and cassette.

But I'm tempted by the nuts price. Almost as good as the missus' Stumpy Expert at Evans. £3100 reduced from £5,200 IIRC. Paid a 50 quid deposit then turned up with the £3k C2W voucher.
"Sorry, we cant allow voucher topups"
Sad face 😔
"Its ok, we'll just knock the price down a bit further to match the voucher..."
Happy face 😁

Urgh, its dripping in SRAM. Youd have to factor in replacing all that.

That's a very good price. I've had an Enduro for about 4 years, and can easily pedal it all day. It climbs technical climbs extremely well and decends like a 170mm bike should extremely fast and composed. Also factor in specialized warrenty which I have found to be exceptional when they replaced my frame.

That is an absolute cracking deal. How come they are so cheap? Is there a new enduro frame design coming put? Seems like they are desperate to clear the current model. That is some saving.

Probably not as standard, the bb is pretty low even in the high setting but I think there’s an Australian company that makes a new shock link that’s keeps the geo very similar with a 27.5 fitted

Customer services have said Kevin's is with the courier and should be in store Friday. Although with his injury it may be a while before he gets to ride it

Is that CS at Evans or the courier?

My 8 digit code for DX courier doesnt work on the website and when i spoke to DX customer services they were super vague and werent sure whst was going on.

Healing vibes for Kevin!

Yes I bought one of these.

I went in to store Saturday and paid for one. They say it should be here but the end of the week.

I wasn't actively looking for a new bike but it was in the back of my mind as my current one is 10 years old.

This was too good a deal to pass up on.

Was it priced wrong I wonder? It's a hell of a high spec bike for 3400.

The lower spec model was 3500! So why sell the expert model for less money, it made no sense to me.

When I went to pay for it, the price even came up at 4500, and they had to adjust it.

They are being advertised on ebay and Facebook 2nd hand for more than 3400!

Dear lord, Evans customer service is shocking. They have sent me a tracking number that doesnt work, despite several emails they tell me to enter the tracking number, and i tell them it doesnt work.

DX their delivery agent cant find it from the number Evans have sent me. Its all very frustrating. Im begining to regret this purchase.

Same here, Evans can't find any details of my order or tell me when the bike will be here but I've paid for the bike!

How does this company get away with operating like a bunch of cowboys? I guess we should expect nothing less from Mike (C)Ashley

The fact you have to pay £20 to get the bike in to the shop is criminal to.

Well my tracking number started being recogniswd at about 1230hrs yday.

When i have checked this morning it had got to my delivery depot in Rhyl at about 0440hrs this morning.

It doesnt say anything about when it will be delivered, but it may be today.  I ordered on 7th and it took 6 days before it appeared on the delivery couriers tracking info. So yours may just end up in the shop today?

Mine just arrived, random phone call from the delivery driver who couldn't get up the road, no tracking info and evans customer support "Rachael" didn't seem to know what was happening with the order.

Crazy, but it does appear bikes are turning up. Why is the company such a shambles though. It's about as far removed from a local bikeshop with high service levels as possible.

It's like ordering it from a supermarket.

Mike Ashley needs to hang his head in shame. The guys a disgrace, especially with his zero hour contracts, is he still getting away with that.
