Bought this for my Bird AM9 cut the 7.5mm spacer off that sits under the bump stop and that gives you 65mm stroke. Moved top mount hardware off my current shock and slips in nicely.

Thanks - my brother has an am9 which needs a shock upgrade. I've not heard of cutting that spacer out, straight forward to do and no implications as a result?

Coil spacer mod is simple on these, sits under the rubbery bump stop. Snip it out and your on 65mm stroke

Is a bearing mount one end, so will fit a limited number of frames.

Yeah as above , simple cut off reducer and away you go, its very easy to cut as well . I just snipped mine from each side keeping well away from shaft and it broke in half. I seems to be so a cross between rubber and hob nobs so broke easy.
I went for a 400lbs spring I'm around 13st ready to ride and getting 30% sag with two turns of the spring tension thingy as mentioned on the Bird website.
