Make it this one.
Not watched in a while as, frankly I find it a bit pants but this one is awesome!
Ashton is back
you are not wrong. Moments of greatness
Yeah man!
Now that made me laugh! Ashton is nuts, Blake's face looked like it was melting...
That was great, pure joy!
Amazing! Yes agree re Blake’s expression - puts in context just how nuts Ashton is 😀😀😀
I just followed it up with the sidecar jump hack which was also v entertaining..
That's brill, but you can see why trail centers don't want e-motorbikes* using them. The way it spun that big fat back wheel! That's got some shove.
*over 250w home-brew, throttled affairs.
Bigger front wheels and set forward a bit or rider back a bit might help it be less nose divey, although I’m guessing it’s not designed to leave the ground. Awesome
Lovely stuff. My backyard for many years.
And good to see Chris Smith in the mix, too.
@stwhannah did a really interesting podcast with the guy behind those machines. https://singletrackworld.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/podcast-bowhead-corp-making-bikes-for-life/
full of admiration but that makes me sad, soz
That machine is ****ing nuts.
Plenty robust enough thankfully when he overshot that jump.
Awesome stuff
full of admiration but that makes me sad
No sure how its sad. Martyn Ashton comes across as a top bloke who is trying to live his best life despite something really unfortunate happening to him.
More power to him.
Yeah, that podcast that @stwhannah did with the bowhead guy was fantastic!
Martyn Ashton was still jumping more competently than I ever have done or am likely to do.
You can really see the enjoyment & happiness in his face. It constantly amazes me how he took such a life-changing injury & just got on with it. A massive inspiration for sure!
An excellent piece...his face says it all really, like a wee kid trying something new out and loving it but also slightly scared of it. Great to see and that machine looks mighty impressive with a serious kick of power to it by the looks of things.
Wholesome.
Martyn is a proper inspiration.
Oh and the 'bike' is bloody awesome!
That looks simultaneously awesome and terrifying in equal measures.
That was great, thanks for sharing!
I really want to engineer some "pop" into that trike!
It needs a pneumatic cylinder on the front suspension, so as you go up a jump's ramp, you press a button on the bars and the cylinder fires and pushes the front up, in effect, the same pop a fully able rider does with their legs, but obviously impossible for those with paralysis.
That would be super cool, enable super sends, and i think Mr Ashton might be brave and skilled enough to be able to test it out 🙂
