Aldi has some for $9.99. Good enough for bike use.

Thanks---going to have get me one of those. The markings on my
"manual" one are really hard to read accurately

I've had a set for years, they've been an excellent tool!

Do you have many Aldi stores in the states?

Just checked and most of their stores in the US are in the eastern half of the country. Closest to me in New Mexico are next door in Texas, so going to have to see if I can get them online

Just for reference - these ones with the new ALDI / LIDL machined markings are now in LIDL IRL and were in LIDL UK last week.

They are slightly different to the ones from the last ALDI / LIDL from the last 7+ years : eg they no longer turn on automatically when you move them.

The newest ones come with branded batteries. The motion is not as smooth as the previous generations. But the current generation are as accurarate (or is that inaccurate?) as the older generation ones.

So - yeah- not the same as yesteryear but still a good buy I'd guess.

The US Aldi ones that I bought today turn on automatically when you slide them. That caught me by surprise, as I'd never used a set that did this before. Also, the LCD display is larger than most other digital calipers that I've used, so easier to read.

I'm sure that someone will be along to say that they're junk compared to their $10,000 set. ๐Ÿ™„ But for $9.99 they're more than good enough for measuring a seatpost diamater and stuff like that on a bike.
