Decathlon is opening a store at Hermiston Gate on November 24th.

Just in time for Christmas.

They used to let him hang around in one.

Donald - don't worry, you're not going gaga. I was working in The Bike Chain for a couple of years but gave it up earlier this year to get more cycling in.

I don't think the LBSs need be that worried though. Decathlon are just another competitor and with Evans opening up soon the whole place will get a bit of a shake up. I'd be more worried if I was the Bike Co-op....

The Decathlon range for biking is quite limited. I reckon the places to be worried are Blacks, Go Outdoors, Halfords and EBC. Go and Blacks have the bargain outdoor markets in Edinburgh, and Halfords purely for its proximity to their store.

Decathlon's awesome... Not amazing for bikes to be fair, but not bad either. But for other outdoor and fitness stuff I don't think there's any competition really. Makes Go Outdoors look pretty shoddy.

Hermiston Gait store's not going to be as massive as the one at the Fort though, unless they're taking the unit next door as well. I could spend hours in that big one.

Which Fort Store?

I.je had some decent stuff from Decathlon, it'll hurt most lbs imo.

Anyone know how to apply for a job there?

Probably gone now. They're supposed to open in 5 weeks.

How about this though?

I was at B&Q this morning at 7.00am (sad I know), but Decathlon looked like it was knocking 2 stores into one, JJB and the one next to Mothercare.
