These are crazy cheap - EUR 11.50 each.

Reviews suggest they're really good - PinkBike found them weak in the wet, NSMB and others found them really good overall.

I got a myself a 29er set just to try out

Very squared off apparently, especially if your rims are 30mm, not great in the wet, maybe worth a punt if you're running 25mm rims.

Ran a set of the originals and really liked them. Not tried the new ones but I believe they changed manufacturers and the new ones weren't as good.

Great price though.

Yeah, I have a set of wheels with 27mm rims, so that's the plan.

Thanks I've just ordered a pair.

I ran a pair of the original TRS tyres for 18 months and rated them highly, especially in the wet, but I think this newer version has slightly lower centre tread blocks, with a bit more of a chamfer on them, in a bid to reduce rolling resistance a bit which was a common complaint about the originals and is probably why Pinkbike felt they lacked a bit of bite in the wet. Definitely worth a punt at this price.

Can’t quite understand the difference between the plus and race 29er versions?

Plus is a harder compound

Race has softer rubber on shoulders & aramid reinforcement, slightly heavier but grippier

Plus is meant for rear use

I think

Cheers OP, ordered a pair of the plus versions. I've never used them but am willing to try for this price.

From what I've read the plus compound is harder, less tacky and longer lasting. The Race coumpound is stickier and softer.

Race is softer, going with that front and plus rear

Hmm, I suppose it's not worth me putting my E13 TRS Plus and TRS Race tyres on ebay then... 😀

Took them off my Jeffsy when it was new, I'll keep them as emergency spares.
