Just found this as I need to renew my driving license photo (for £35!!!!). Anyway this site is well rated and you can download high res passport photos of the correct proportions if you follow the directions!!

http://www.epassportphoto.com/

It's sort of bike related if your going on a biking holiday soon and have not checked when you passport runs out !!! 😉

Last time I got a passport I was told that prints from a home printer were not to be used, has this changed?

Had to renew all 4 of our passports over the last 3 years and have done all the pictures myself at home.

It says in the recommendations:

"be printed professionally. Photographs printed at home are not likely to be of an acceptable quality."

I doesn't say you can't just it maybe rejected? So if you have a 300di photo printer then it should be fine?

I just renewed my driving license photo and I'm sure it was only 20 quid.

Thanks for the heads-up. Was about to lay mine out in photoshop but this was 10x easier. Printed instantly at boots for 38p. Would have been £5 to use the proper passport photo booth there.

Very easy, stick the pic on a usb stick, pop it in the machine and print at 6x4. Took under a minute, £4.62 saved and I've still got another 6 pictures of my face 🙂

Last time I took some at home with a white sheet, cleaned up in PS and managed to fit about 9 on a 6 x 4. Printed within the hour at Jessops for £1.
