yeah the code only applies to certain items.

Yup, dug a bit deeper and it's just items in their Spend & Save sale.

Well they've made up my mind for me, I was tempted by the Mega 290 frame but now they've put the price up I will resist temptation as I can feel like they're trying to rip me off.

I’m also celebrating the prices going up. Removes what was a growing temptation.

Was tempted by the Escarpe, Sommet and Mega - tricky one because I only need the Escarpe (I don’t even need that) but for £40 extra I could have had a Super Deluxe with the Sommet - trouble is for less than £200 extra I could have a carbon Mega…

anyway, it’s gone up now and £600 is still a bargain, it’s just less attractive than £520. So as I don’t need a full sus frame I’ve settled on the Sommet for £360 with the Super Deluxe shock. I’ve got a 170mm shaft for my Lyriks and everything else will swap over.

£360 is ludicrous

we really need a service like camel camel camel that tracks the price of CRC/wiggle items to see how much the price is actually changing.

Beware these little deals or you'll spend loads on the small stuff and something big will come along leaving you unable to afford or justify another big purchase.

A bit like the starters on an all you can eat buffet.

Well that was a nice surprise need some new tyres for my Gravel bike and wiggle/CRC have 40c Nano TCS Light/Fast on for £12.99 each so I thought I'd give them a whirl, they've got other WTB TCS gravel tyres like Ventures and crossboss on for between 18-25 quid too, but I went for the cheapest option (as ever)...

They are long cage and quite soft metal, ive bent 2 of them which is why I was looking! Just dont smack them off rocks and they work great.

How do you set them up for 12 speed? Do they just work ok with a 12 speed shifter?

They just work, I think the only difference between the 11 and 12 speed Deore mech is the colour of the writing on it.

Good spot on the mech - grabbed one for the Daughters Vitus build as I have an 11-51t 11spd cassette laying around.

Parts are the same other than 1, 3 and 5 and those look very similar. Parallelogram isn't on the parts list though.

I haven't seen it mentioned here or anywhere else - Shimano rt66 rotors are going cheap here too. 6.99 for 180mm, 9.99 for 203mm, 12.99 for 220mm. Bought a few for spares.

Just a heads up the CRC/Wiggle returns are no longer free and need to be made in 14 days, so not as generous as it was before their site upgrade... Had bought a couple of sizes to try out and returning one and getting charged £2.99 (which is reasonable) more of a pain that their return form you can't identify which size you are returning as it's not shown there... only SKU... which is not shown anywhere else... Anyway back on returns, from their T&Cs;

The order must be returned to Chain Reaction within 14 days of contacting us and return postage must be covered by the purchaser. We recommend you use a tracked and insured delivery method.

Return postage is non-refundable unless you’re returning an item because of our error (damaged, defective, wrong item, etc.). Get in touch with our Customer Services team here before returning an item if there is a problem with it as we may be able to mark the return as free or refund standard postage costs.

Oh and it looks like you have to pay for the return voucher up front (it doesn't come off the refund) and no option to pay PayPal despite showing the logo...

Substance VRS-1 Apex for a grand with DT G1800 wheels looks like a bit of a gravel bargain (if you're that way inclined)...

Cancel that, out of stock...

The 14 day thing is just that after requesting the return you need to send it within 14 days. It's still returns within 365 days of purchase.

I've bought the Deore 5100 mech to go on my advent x 10 speed setup. current setup works fine but the lever action is heavy at the big end of the cassette. worth a punt for £15.

i think advent x has its own shifter pull ratio. IE it shouldnt work with a shimano mech. if it does let me know though! haha!

Anyone know if the Shimano M5100 derailleur works as a 10 speed mech?

I've got a pub bike in the offing and a SLX 670 10-speed  shifter in the drawers.

But so does this Big Wig.

Somehow the seat-tube being curved just looks a bit nicer on the Big Wig... Although it seems a chunk heavier.

I picked up the vitus mach 1 three,  really can't complain for £280 for nexus hub and hydro brakes, hopefully will do great duty going around town and might get converted to an ebike in the distant future

nippers mach 1 single speed all tested.. luckily i had a shorter 27.2 seatpost or id have had to have take a saw to it  so he could ride it.

first comment was that it took a lot to get it moving, then he was of, pretty quickly. measured it at 11.2kg small which is ideal to get him using his legs more and riding quicker, nice bike.. trying to work out if i need one:D

Ok I quoted the wrong bit but they've definitely reverted to 14 days return from delivery- there might be some outdated information on the partner website egain (and you might be able to argue the toss until they remove it) but you need to look at the T&C on chainreactions actual shopping web site, there is no mention of 365  and they specifically say 14 days from delivery, and returns are no longer free, it's all here;

https://www.chainreactioncycles.com/terms-and-conditions

Under the Consumer Contract Regulations 2013, you have a statutory entitlement to cancel your contract with us and obtain a full refund if you request one no longer than 14 days after you receive the goods or services.

Confusing website but this is on the return page of chain reaction.....

What is your Return Policy?

This Return Policy applies to standard returns only. If there’s a problem with an item you’ve received, or if you believe a product has developed a fault, please get in touch with our Customer Services team. We’ll do what we can to resolve the issue asap.

Return Policy

If you receive an order and find you’ve changed your mind or the item just isn’t right for you, don’t worry. Goods can be returned for a refund within 365 days from the date of purchase (subject to the product exclusions outlined below).

We’re unable to offer exchanges, but if you wish to purchase a different item, simply hop onto our website and place a new order separately. This will be processed and dispatched as quickly as possible.

Goods must be returned in an unused, re-saleable condition, with their original packaging, and all labels still attached. They should also be securely packaged in a sealed box to make sure the contents are protected during transit. Our Returns team will review all items to check they meet the criteria outlined in this Returns Policy. If an item is returned outside of our Returns Policy, the return may be rejected, and the item sent back to you. Your return postage fee will not be refunded. We will contact you if this happens.

All refunds will be issued to your original payment method within 5 days of the item arriving at our warehouse. We’ll send you a confirmation email when the refund has been processed. Please note, it may take up to 10 days from the date of refund for the funds to appear in your account. This will depend on your bank.

Return postage is non-refundable.

I think the t±c info is the legal minium under distance selling regs, CRC however have enhanced this with their 365 policy.

I have M8000 XT on my bike, will the M5100 rear mech work? (11spd)

I assume it's a slight down grade but £15 v £75 for a new M8000 it's a down grade I could live with!

@sturdylad it should work but remember it's designed for an 11-51 cassette, I'm not sure how it would work with the older 11-46 if that's what you have
