[#10398418]

Just received a pair of "2016 26" 160mm Mattoc Pros" from Bike24 for the princely sum of €280. I ordered IRT at the same time (€60) and was expecting to upgrade the seals in short order to the latest spec.

Having pulled them out of the box they already have the new updated seals. 27.5" conversion bits were included in the box along with spacers.

Once you've put the IRT in these are essentially pro 3 spec for £307 delivered to the UK. The only difference is that the have a QR15 tool free axle rather than a tooled axle. That can also be upgraded for~£35 I think.

Thanks for the PSA ndg. Are you absolutely sure they come with 27.5" conversions? Has anybody done the swap? Can't seem to find much in the technical documents about it.

They do come with the 27.5 conversion - the 27.5 also come with the 26 conversion but the offset is different.

Poah is right, offset is 41mm on the 26" fork vs 44 on the 27.5, a lot of manufacturers seem to be reducing offsets at the minute though, Fox have a 37mm F36 option out this year.

There's an epic thread on mtbr which will include details on the swap, you've just got to find it. I haven't read the manual yet, but I'd hope it's in there. Manitou's website has a full set of service instructions too should you need them, these forks seem to be fairly home mechanic friendly.

with the mk1's I would get the upgraded seals. They make a huge difference to the initial sensitivity.

I've some Mattocs (from the CRC fire sale earlier). Can I identify what seals I have?

The low friction seals have "RXWT000255" written on them:

As I said, I was suprised, but these have been reworked and have the new 000255 seals in them.

Nicely done.

I think they’re great forks. The IRT and new seals make a big difference and they’re hard to beat for the money. They perform so much better than the Yari’s I was running beforehand.
