I saw that.

If I didn't already have a Mule I'd have bought one.

Yep. I reckon the Mule NV is worth a punt at that price.
I ordered one last night 🙂

Ordered an octane 24. Sometimes my mule isn't quite big enough and at that price you can't grumble.

Does anyone have an Octane (either size)?

Interested in the 24 but worried it might be a bit big for riding with.

I have an Octane 18X and I would say it holds 3-4 times as much as a Mule but it's not that much bigger if any in size. It's the shape of the space thats much more suitable for actually putting larger items in, without the restriction from the bladder.

The zipped front works really well at reducing the packsize. It's very lightweight largely because there are no compartments inside, it's just an open space with minimal padding to the back. It will swallow an average size shoe box but when cinched up feels tiny. It comes with a 2L bladder but a 3L fits in fine.

I've owned several Camelbaks over the years and this one for me is the perfect do everything pack from all day epics, bivvy rides and 2 hour blasts round the woods.

Jonti-

Worth a cheeky punt but..

Can mine go out today?

I'm riding Afan on Friday and it would be ideal for taking some extra clothes

John Buchanan Luxe ordered

I have a pack about the size of the Mule already so I ordered a Consigliere, since there are times I've wished I had a smaller, lighter, more compact pack.

Anyone any experience with them?

jonti said "wear old kit..."

Does my 1998 Mule, still my most regularly used pack, count (yes its had a new bladder but after a spin in the washing machine you'd think it was new)?

I think my old Mule has got to be from the 90's, its still going strong, zips are all working and as said in a previous post as soon as its been through the washing machine, it looks brand new !

I could do with a new CamelBak, not cos mine is worn out but because my new DSLR won't fit in it. I've got a Mule from about 2002 (still in perfect condition), is the new Mule bigger? I hate having large rucksacks, I want the smallest one possible that still fits the camera in.
