After seeing a Kona Steely with polished rims at the weekend (Sun Escape) I'm thinking they'd look great on my bike. Anyone know who does some polished rims? The Escapes seemed awfully heavy, so suggestions please
Nitromors

Does nitromors do anything to anodising?
Unless laquered/anodized/coated in some way, the home-polished rim will likely corrode after getting wet/dirty/salty.
I have a set of Spank Spikes in Chrome. Probably going to be too heavy for you though if you're complaining about weight - 600g rims. Look ace though.

There are people that can (claim to be able to) put a chrome-effect on almost any surface:

plus plenty of other people, no idea how good it is though.
I understood you could remove anodizing with "lye". My lbs said he's used it to make Stans rims silver, but using it for rims with eyelets and making them look good is harder.
I'd happily polish my rims but don't know how long they'd last must be some other rims as well as spank surely?
I've got some polished Salsa Disc rims of some description - bought them a few years ago for a project I never got round to. I'll dig 'em out and take a pic so you can see if they're any use if you like?
Cheers Tim email is my profile, much appreciated!
