I want to fit my lyrik 1 1/8th" forks to a prophet frame with the 1.5 headtube.
is anyone running this fork on a prophet?
I like to know of any good experiences with these step down headsets, the one that cannondale supplies on its prophet bikes looks like the bottom cup is very deep.
Does the cup need to be that deep to let a lyrik forks adjustment knobs clear the down tube?
What are the standard or recommended rebound and compression tunes for a float shock on a prophet frame?
does it make any difference if to the tune if its a rp2 rp3 or rp23?
any help would be great
A lyrik is in theory too long A-C for a regular prophet. I think you do need a deep cup for a lyrik to clear.
I had a heavy tune rp3 on as a prophet SL and a medium tune high air volume rp2 as a prophet at 140mm. Both were good, suiting the bike.
As I assume you're going more FR, the medium tune would seem more suitable, it was better for that sort of thing. I think it would be waaaaay slack with a lyrik on though, especially in the FR setting. With pikes and the deep cup reducer on mine it was getting on for being as slack as my socom...
EDIT: of course I'm assuming you're running the forks at 160, you could run them at 140.
I have 1.5" lyriks with a FSA 1.5 bottom cup (not particularly deep) - no clearance issues with that.
Not sure about the standard settings but remember its a falling rate design so you need something designed around that. I had my RP23 PUSHed & they fitted a DHX bottom out bumper to compensate for the falling rate.
I would guess a light compression tune with a decent amount of rebound adjustment available?
i run Lyrics on mine with a Hope headset which does have a slightly bigger bottom cup, the controls on the Lyrics are quite bulky.
they are too long if you take cannondale's advice (unless you have an MX) but i don't think they are too slack at least not for the riding i do and yes you can always wind them down for the climbs.
