Interested in the pigeon - does it speak english?
Oh, and it mustn't like holes.
No chest problems has it?

If andrewh's isn't suitable I've got a deceased pigeon you can have for free. Used to speak English, didn't like holes, no chest problems AFAIK.

Day 289: Dead Pigeon

Thu 13 Nov 2008. A deceased pigeon on the (inaccessible) window ledge.

Dead for 1,144 days now - how's it holding up?

Sorry if this is a stupid question - but does it come with a leg ring?

Nah, on reflection, I don't fancy it

Here's me with me previous bird:

[img] [/img]

Much better looking, I think you'll agree?

To be fair, I think the world has caught up with Mackem.

When you buy a headset from Hope it doesn't necessarily come with both ends.

Good Point - I got one of their mix and match headsets and it didn;t come with an sfn/top cap.

To be fair the bottom cup and bearing were accompanied by a crown race.

Just thought I'd log on to wish this thread a happy second birthday and see if an answer had yet been found. I have discovered that it has been a little more active of leate than I was expecting! Honestly, I turn my back for six weeks and it all starts up again. Although I note that all of you missed the anniversary.
.
Boxelder, the pigeon does speak English (also Spanish and Welsh and a little Dutch, not grea at Dutch but I'm slowing teaching him. This is made somewhat slower by the fact that I don't speak Dutch myself)
He has no chest problems at all, not even a feather out of place.
However, he is rather keen on holes, any dark place actually, he loves bags and boxes too. Would thos make him unsuitable for whatever you had in mind? Also, would you be able to continue the Dutch lessons?

Pigeons don't use twitter, their native language is a sort of cooing sound. It's generally little songbirds who tweet.

The only reason pigeon don't use twitter is the size of their claws, Andrew. Have you SEEN the size of the feet of that one at the top of the page. Proper clown-claws. The giant hand doesn't have me convinced.

Will he be prepared to live in a windmill in old Amsterdam?

Me too. We could have a race along the Jubilee line? Who wants to be crowned winner (no headstarts allowed)?

I've never seen a crown race.
I've seen a I saw a peanut stand, heard a rubber band,
And seen a needle wink its eye
But I be done seen about everything
When I see an elephant fly
When I see an elephant fly

I've seen a front porch swing, heard a diamond ring
I've seen a polka dot railroad tie
But I be done seen about everything
When I see an elephant fly

I saw a clothes horse rear up and buck
And they tell me that a man made a vegetable truck
I didn't see that, I only heard
Just to be sociable, well, I'll take your word

I heard a fireside chat, I saw a baseball bat
And I just laughed till I thought I'd die
But I be done seen about everything
When I see an elephant fly

But I be done seen about everything
When I see an elephant fly

The crown race is indigenous to the NW of England.

The clown race probably originate from t'other side o't'Pennines. ๐Ÿ˜›

Reminded by the thread of the year thread.

Must be coming up for its second (or is it third the time flies) Christmas now?

Maybe all new members should have to read this thread before they're allowed to post just so they know what they're letting themselves in for?

I don't want to be at the back though. Is there a fun class in the crown race?

Third birthday is early March I believe.
.
Maybe all new members should have to read this thread

All of it?! They'll be here for days. I remember the excitement when it got to 5 pages.
.

I was thinking about this and wondering when crown races were first developed. The winner at the ancient olympics used to get a laurel wreath to wear on their head, does that count as a crown?

Cerise? I prefer blue, as sung by Joni Mitchell:

Sometimes you can buy them seperately from mftr, other times your LBS might just have something that will fit floating about*
