I need some prescription sun glasses for biking, skiing, running etc. I can't afford Oakleys are there any alternative sports glasses which would do the job?
Thanks
Matthew
How much are Oakleys?
I use Adidas Evil Eye with the prescription insert. Very happy with them and you're not tied to a single colour lens.
Just pick up some standard sunglasses and ask an optician to glaze them.
Even better, ask your optician to tell you the name of the backstreet bodger in your town where all the opticians send the repair jobs (when they've failed to persuade the punter to buy a new pair) and pay the bloke a visit - he will know a man who can glaze any frame for you, even cheapo ones from Decathlon. Then get a couple made up and if you lose them you haven't lost much.
Simples.
Try googling Optilabs.
google cocoons
Adidas evil eye II for me...like them a lot.
cheapest I've had is buying a pair of BBB powerview frames (the rimmed model) ( http://www.pro-bike.co.uk/22030-powerview-2-glasses.html)
and then getting optilabs.co.uk to glaze them. ~ £90 for photochromic lenses.
Bolle 867 safety glasses with tinted lenses and script ~90 quid.
Have you ruled out contacts? Miles better option IMO.
I'm using Bolle safety specs with clear lenses at the minute... there are a few RX and non RX options about have a bit of a google...
I use Adidas evil eye II with the insert. Plus if you scratch the lens it's only about £30 for new ones (not the insert) Another plus if I do wear my contacts I just unclip the insert and their normal sunglasses 🙂
What's your prescription? If it's too high you'll be more limited in what you can get.
