I'm looking to have my orange 5 powdered coated. Anyone out there able to recommend a quality powder-coater in or around South Wales? Approx cost?
Cheers

not a personal recommendation but I believe that the recognised best in the busines are argos cycles in bristol? Only firm that Santa Cruz will allow you to use without invalidating their frame warranty
I got an inbred done recently in Bingley so no good distance wise but it cost £80 in metallic black plus i had to get the BB chased out.
ABC Powdercoaters in Nailsea, just outside Bristol. Quality job for around £30, mines still looking good after 4 or 5 years.
Argos in Bristol don't do powder coating, only ennamel. And having used them personally and professionally I would not reccomend them for MTBs as they seem to chip pretty fast unless you cover the frame in Heli Tape.
Bournes and Sweeny+Sherlock in Birmingham are pretty good with S+S being a little better and have a wider range of colours and things like glitter topcoats. £30-70ish
send it back to orange...my mate has just had his 5 done in flouro green and it looks ****in awsome. they also re-sticker and put new bearings in and to be honest it's cheaper than than using a 3rd party spray shop.

Is a chap very highly recommended by the old school bmx community, who entrust their 20-30 year old frames to him.
Theres a gallery on the radbmx.com site which shows his work.
I cant recommend myself as never used, but I've never heard of anyone complain about his work, and will be sending my semi valuable Diamond Back BMX frame to him shortly. Seems to understand whats important about bike frames, seems careful not to go over serial numbers and nice welding too heavily.
Thank you all for the feed back.
