There is a spot in Slaithwaite that some of the lads use. If you ring or pop into Colne Valley Cycles in Linthwaite they will be able to tell you where it is. There also used to be one around that back of Charlie Browns just out of Hudds on Manchester Road but it might not be there now.

DBW - Am I right you had a Blur 4X done there or am I thinking of someone else?

Can I ask how much they charged? And what did they do?
(mine's in bits at the mo' so I'd just want front and rear triangles doing and am happy to put it back together myself)

Higgo, yes. Went for a gloss black finish. Think it was £90 and that included a chemical strip, sealing off where the bearings go, the bottom bracket threads etc - awesome job. They do some real pretty options too - was tempted by the candy red for a bit more £££ but went for the stealthy option!

c9tln - give us some feedback on how it looks once you get it back. Unicoat are fairly local to me and im thinking of getting a frame sprayed. By the way how much did it cost, are they masking bearings/bottom bracket etc?

cheers!

Ditto- looking at getting a frame done at Unicoat as it's just over the valley and hopefully they're good.

If its decent for £30 then thats excellent. I got my Soul done for £35 by Specialist Coatings in Halifax and it was sh*te. Orange peel effect (which is a sign of cheap, crap powder being used apparently) on the paintwork. You pays your money... their normal work is powdercoating playground equipment and fire escapes etc!

Also interested in the finish from Unicoat at Slaithwaite. Not only cheaper but nearer for me.

I can have a cheap job done locally - there's a place near me that seems to specialise in garden stuff judging by the wide choice of green finishes in his catalogue. He did my hardtail for £20 and it was 'OK' but nothing more.

I want a nice job doing on this one so am willing to spend/travel but obviously no more than needed.

Triple-S Higgo. I wouldn't even bother shopping around if I needed it doing again.

They've just send my a couple of photos of the colour samples board. I see what you mean about 'candy red' - very tempted.
