So it's a lovely evening, I've got three and a bit hours before we are going to the GP.. I have clearance.. but somehow I still feel weird about it.
Have fun.
Did you give birth? stop being nervous & take it easy.
It's cos I've been taking care of the Mrs for the last 10 days, feel bad about leaving her alone. Stoo late now anyway, will go tomorrow ๐
ha i went out the very next day for a long moor ride after my 1st, i like to set the tone for the rest of their lives...mrs at home caring for the kids me out having fun after a hard weeks work..!
edit, just spoke to the mrs and i was informed i also went for a surf that day..!!
When our little lad was born there was a feeding issue which meant that we got daily visits from the midwife. On about day 10 she told me to go out on my bike for a couple of hours. I could have kissed her.
We've got feeding issues, the poor Mrs is really struggling with it and the stress that it causes. I can't leave her in the lurch, but she's said I can go... I think I'll nip out tomorrow ๐
Hi Molgrips,
Congratulations.
Don't let your wife get get beaten up by the breast is best gestapo. My wife had problems and all three of mine went on the bottle quite early. They are 11, 9 & 8 now and three of the fittest healthiest kids in their peer groups. Go for what you think is best (a bit scary with your first) but its your kid and what you and your wife think is best for it, probably is. They (and you) will sleep better, even with the odd bottle at night with the bottled stuff, lessens the stress, and makes for a happier family.
Enjoy the ride, but once the tidler is big enough, make sure you let your wife get out for a ride, or whatever floats her boat:).
Cheers

I'll 2nd Android's comment- my nephew was on formula from day 1 and he's currently over 6'3" at 15 and is in the top 5 for all his subjects. I've got the perfect solution to worry free post birth riding- join Joblesstrackworld.
Little miss FB arrived last week so my contract ended early. As I'm now between jobs, I won't feel guilty when she's home going for rides in the week when in different circumstances I would have been at work.
When FB jnr was born, I did feel guilty going off for rides when I had been at work all week. It's a shame I only had 4 months of working a 9 day fortnight so I could spend a day looking after him each 2 weeks (and not feel guilty then going for a ride at the weekend) before I was made redundant.
The only drawback in this plan is the lack of income.

Breast is still best tho. Even if there are healthy kids on bottles. That's why we're persevering with it. If we crack it in the first few weeks we'll be sorted for six months, no arsing about with sterilisers and bottles, and buying formula.
But yeah. I already joined joblesstrackworld (in fact I coined the phrase ๐ ) but I'm shortly to be leaving!
Your right, its free, sterile and available on draught at all times :). All I am saying is don't let it worry you if you do need to go onto bottles. Not sure how it is now but when we had our first it was frowned upon by the NCT crowd and midwifes. By the 2nd and 3rd we just said we're doing what's best for us and if you don't like it you can f off. Made for a much easier time.
Molgrips does she have the number of a decent bf counsellor? My friend is one so can see if she knows someone in your area for you?
Had tons of advice Mrs F, from MWs and BF people but actually doing it is a touch harder (with this little one it seems) than just being told or shown.
Well good luck to them both.
Did you ride?
Few more feeds under the belt - a few decisive but hard fought victories, but the war's definitely not over yet.
Still didn't ride either ๐
