I bought a frame off taka on here not so long ago. It's a 2007 commencal combi hydraulic disc. He told me it was semi integrated headset type. Which as far as I'm aware is the same as zero stack, internal and in FSAs case, Orbit Z. So I bought this: http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=15888
Now I don't know an awful lot about these things but measuring the cups against the frame and theres not way they're gonna fit in.
Are there different size steerer tubes on frames and the headset I have is too wide. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks
have you bought the 1.5 - 1 1/8 reducer orbit x?
Whats that then?
On top of the headset box it says FSA Orbit Z Headset Black 1.1/8"
a headset that reduces the headtube for a 1 1/8 steerer from a 1.5" steerer (like on a cannondale)
The case at the moment is the the cups seem too big for the frame. Or the size of the frames tube is too small for the headset cups.....
looking at the 2009 it is a normal headset not integrated/internal
The 2008 "normal" is a standard headset also
Oh right... :S
I wonder if the 2007 combi IS semi integrated
It measures about 35mm (Rubbish ruler measurement, but near enough)
Can anyone else help? Or even the big man himself (taka).
Your frame needs a standard 1 1/8" headset, it's not semi integrated.
thats what i said!!
Are you sure?
Headtube internal diameter for for 1 1/8" is around 34mm so yes it sounds like it.
Just don't wanna get it and it's wrong again
Gonna bollock tom (taka) as well
definitely 100% a Normal standard headset
