I was over at my parents in North Devon this week and immensely enjoyed the local biking around Exmoor.
After my final ride before flying home yesterday i got back to the house and left my bike in the afternoon sun.
Whilst having a shower i heard a rather large bang, thinking it was just a local farmer taking pop shots at rabbits i thought nothing of it, only for my dad to shout up to say my rear tyre had blown off the rim!
It must have been a combination of the heat (upwards of 26/27degC) and a worn tyre but it completely unseated itself from one side of the rim. Luckily there wasn't much sealant in the tyre so the mess was minimal. I did notice that there was more of a pronounced wobble during the ride, so not sure if somehow the tyre had managed to unseat itself earlier in the day.
Tyre was a Specialized Eliminator Grid Trail (2.3) on an Enve AM30 rim, think i had about 26psi in the tyre.
