I've heard conflicting arguments that there great fro riding or that they are terrible for riding in any you will crash and die if you even conciser it.

What's people opinion

They stop glare from reflective surfaces like water by cutting out light polarised in that plane, really good for sailing and fishing (or any watersport really), but I can't see much advantage on an MTB?

i had a pair of polarized galsses for riding. i ditched them. they had an odd effect of any slick or wet rock and found it distracting. the stones appeared glazed.

They can be good for road riding when its sunny after a shower. But I would prefer just a decent lens for mountain biking.

+1. Also make drain covers look really weird on the road and mess with LCD screens (eg satnavs).

However, I really liked them for general wear and found them good for skiing.

yeah i really couldn't ride well with polarised lenses, can't explain why. i kept running into things though so it was serious.
good for fishing though!
prefer light adjusting lenses for mtb (i forget what they're called, the ones that quickly go brown or grey or back to clear)

i found my polarised glasses to be odd for road riding - as above they make the tarmac and drain covers look odd, and hard to gauge the surface. Strangley they are brilliant for driving.

not used them on mtb as they were too expensive to risk getting scratched ๐Ÿ˜‰
