[#1671533]

Last night, fitted a second speed sensor to my commuting bike (used for midweek training).

Rode it home tonight wearing HRM. Jumped on other bike (last used Sat - speed sensor working fine then) and I get a zero speed reading.

Gnnnnrrrrrr. How TF do I get it to read the speed of two bikes (not at the same time)? Is it "locked" or something?

Soooo annoyed. Help please..!

It has a setting for bike 1 and bike 2, details evade me but should be in the manual.

You shouldn't need to change between the settings though, that's just if you have an MTB and a road bike, or two bikes with different wheel circumferences. Sounds like the battery may have just died in the original sensor, just coincidental timing, they're not that 'clever'!

Presumably you stopped the watch and restarted it before swapping bikes, if you just swap it straight across within the same session then it won't work.

In my haste (I was in a rush), I didn't. I've tried it again this morning, and still no joy.

Grr.

Is it one of the old S-series speed sensors? Can you see the LED flashing when the magnet passes it? (the CS series ones may do this too, I've not really played with one!).

CS speed sensors on both bikes. No LEDs.

A lot of googling got me nowhere last night. Hence asking you kind chaps..!

Sounds like the battery may have just died, it's just a coincidence that it happened now, like I said, they shouldn't be that intelligent! S-Series ones were just CR2032 batteries.

May well have done. It's done 2.5 years.

I suspect it would be easier just to buy another sensor than return it to Polar for them to charge me the same price to fit a new battery....

Can you not do them yourself on the CS sensors!? That's a bit lame.

Found a homebrew method online. If I get no joy this weekend, I'll give that a bash.

This just about sums up a really sh*t week of cycling, I have to say....

Is it really that much of a big deal!? You could whip the new sensor off one bike and stick it back on the other if it matters that much!

Second sensor set was meant to make life easier..!

It's a bit iof a faff taking the sensor on and off - it's ziptied on.

I might just swallow the cost and buy another. It's just been one of those weeks: nothing bike related - and the list is pretty long - has gone right..!
