Currently watching the live timing of practice for the Juniors. As you'd expect, very few have done a top to bottom as i expect they'll be checking different bits out.

Who is actually forking out to watch?

I know people who used to watch and now have zero interest. Myself included.

I got the relevant discovery+ included in our family EE contract for mobile and broadband.

I will be watching but wouldn't if I'd had to stump up the £30 a month.

I love DH and have watched since the early 90s Grundigs coverage when I used to mow my neighbours lawn in exchange for them videoing the eurosport broadcast through their VERY posh and expensive Sky dish (which usually included english and german commentary broadcasting at the same time).

I don't like the changes but I still love the spectacle and I'd really miss it.

I am not paying, and it's gutting tbh, but it's part of our recent cull of streaming services. Got other things that I need to prioritise paying for. I will read the coverage on Pinkbike and maybe look at some riders blog stuff though.

We're paying yes, but i doubt that's much of a shock to anyone.

Not paying.

Tiz is streaming it on their site so I'll use that

Asa Vermette didn't turn up to the timed training session this afternoon?

I'm paying, but admittedly wouldn't if in the UK with no option to opt out of all the other premium sports stuff. The combination of the British football driven subscription sports economy and WB is a total cluster****.

More importantly... where's Loic ?

I was holding that one until later. Elite men have another 45 minutes.*

*And as I'm typing, Loic went through the first split 😉

Edit: he's green most of the way down the track.

I will possibly be watching as I recently got it for 'free' as part of my EE phone contract.

It does now appear to be a lost sport.

No mention anywhere that BK is out, or that Tahnee now rides for Orbea. Its a proper niche sport now unfortunately

The EDR barely got any coverage in the run up last weekend, and a bit of stuff afterwards on Pinkbike but nowhere near historic levels of coverage. It definitely felt like the media is giving them (WBD/UCI/ESO etc) a bit of a cold shoulder

I've been a devoted follower of the coverage of DH for as long as it's been watchable. I'd be up at daft o'clock for races in Australia etc. Consumed everything. Since these changes, it's barely registering for me. I think the teams and sponsors will start feeling the impact shortly. No Fort William round is also a real blow for the UK fans this year.

My prediction is the viewing figures will be so bad, the races will be shown on youtube live in a few rounds time

it appears that enduro isn't even getting a youtube highlights package. there's been some raw edits but no preview and no highlights.

It's always been a niche sport, now it's a niche sport that's actively trying to alienate its audience.

Nope, I may have been accepting of paying £10 month but as I don’t have an interest in any other sport then not a chance.

I'd pay 5 to 10 quid for the equivalent of the old Red Bull coverage. I'm not paying 30+ for a generic sports package when I don't watch any other sport.

I'm also just annoyed at the UCI for handing over so much control of the sport to a giant corporation who has no idea what they've got. The huge changes combined with lack of communication and transparency has been really frustrating. It shows so much disrespect for the manufacturers, teams and riders never mind the armchair experts like myself.

So yeah, if they want to turn DH into a Gladiators style TV show they can keep it.

Having said that, I'll be watching Vital Raw and all the pit bits. I might tune in via Tiz to see what the coverage is like but I'm not planning my weekend around it like I used to.

Healthy Goldstone Vs healthy Pierron will hopefully lead to some epic battles.

Kerr broke his wrist and opposite side hand in a weird crash last weekend. Bucked low whilst steaming along and went over the bars. His teammate, forgot his name, also had an off and is out.

Big season for Tahnee. The top level women (HV) is pushing them and she has her work cut out to match it. New team might help.

yes, it’s mega expensive and rubbish but I’ll just watch and cancel asap. I’d rather pay for the few months subscriptions and cancel something else if needed.

What does "outfit" mean on the start list?

Well Nch means they have their relevant national champs jersey or sleeve. And I assume given the new entry rules there must be a identifier for those racing under a national jersey rather than as part of a registered team

Course preview and behind the scenes videos for Poland EDR are on the UCI Mountain Bike World Series Youtube channel. I imagine there'll be a highlights package along shortly.

Q1 qualies for the DH are done.. some big names missing the cut so have to go again. Good showings from Tahnee (2nd) and Hattie (3rd) - back to back belted wins in different disciplines for the latter would be very impressive if she can pull it off!

Q2 qualifying is on YouTube if anyone is bothered

I don't think anyone is for the qualifying as it's not on TNT/Discovery. As ^ qualifying is on YouTube. The new format, with no protected status and only 15 (w)/30 (m) in the final is looking very interesting, as there are several big names struggling to make the final, quite a few newcomers making their presence felt, and:

Healthy Goldstone Vs healthy Pierron will hopefully lead to some epic battles

Both of these had to battle (second qualifying) to make the final. I'll be watching, but I'm fortunate to have TNT sports with my mobile package.

Not too bad.  Can't see Q1 (assuming that's what it's called)

Tahnee hasn't moved teams, she's still with FMD Racing as you'd expect given its her family team. They just moved over to Orbea bikes as part of a main sponsor deal.

Some big names haven't made it to finals, and more had to do it through last chance qualies.

Whilst there lots of moaning about the coverage, the racing is better & more competitive than ever.

So juniors were live on YouTube.

Not particularly surprised with the two winners,

@sharkattack

Nice one...tiz is very laggy.

I'm watching it because I should be working and getting paid to watch DH seems like a better deal than actually working.

Nice to watch on the dodgy link. Reminded me that I would live to watch the rest but the price is way out of my league now.

that said if I was paying I woulld need a no commentary option. That ric fellow is awful, completely kills the pace and kind of stops commentating when they are slightly off the pace.

I don't mind Ric at all. Commentators are useless, even the Giro today

"Anything can happen"

"Any of these could win this"

Well of course!

Rjc spouts sone rubbish but no more than anyone else doing his job

I got the relevant discovery+ included in our family EE contract for mobile and broadband.

Only just realised the same when I stumbled across live footage today. Well that's a bonus I didn't expect, probably worth being with BT/EE for having looked into switching BB provider.

Just watched men’s. Will watch women tomorrow. Can’t find some big names but missed qualifying and write up on pinkbike doesn’t mention some of them.

Reece Wilson?

Laurie Greenland?

assuming this is safe to comment on now? But if not, it was absolutely brilliant racing

That ric fellow

Someone crashes...

Instantly, Ric to Ozzie geezer: "tell us what happened there!"

Both failed to qualify.

My fantasy team is already in tatters because I bet on the gearboxes.

Its such a shame whats happened as competitive DH is in its golden years really.  I thought of paying £30 but some months you'd be getting 1 race!  I turned my back on football years ago and since then DH has been the only sport I've cared about

notable was the strong finishes by Maes and Rude.  So have they both left enduro now?

Hmm, just had a look as I’ve been with EE since they began and I see I can get TNT sports & Discovery + Premium for £20 month, I “may” suck it up and subscribe till the end of the downhill season on 12 October, will cost £100 for the 5 months of racing then I’ll cancel.

Maes and Rude both did very well. The weather made it quite legally which I think helped them.

Was interesting to see so many riders come out of the traps early post qualifying. Likes of Pierron and Hart going down early due to their qualifying position was interesting as made the result a little more unpredictable

Was a heck of a watch, as always with DH racing... it's a weird sport that i still can't fathom how it's not more popular

As much as people slate the coverage, the price and even the commentary team, i love watching it and it's just epic.

Was gutted that a mate of ours Seb Sumner put it into 24th in Junior qualfying, beating a lot of big big names, but they've lowered the finals from 25 to 20 so he just missed out...

Rude said last week that he will do the EDR World Champs but realistically won't be able to do any other EDR due to his full DH commitment.

I've never seen him as animated as he has been about getting a good placing at Poland!

Never watched any enduro but followed some results on Pinkbike and on here, so I knew of Rude but not seen him ride. He is an absolute beast! He's huge!

A mate saw him way back at a Columbian EWS race and said (in heavy Columbian accent) "Man, he looks like a bull!"

Constantly surprised at the love for Rude all the time. It's like people have completely forgotten or ignored his whole doping scandal. I wouldn't trust him ever again after that.

Neko dropped a disparaging comment on Daprela that got passed the WB overlords. Dh coverage overall was good but totally overshadowed the Enduro

Watched the live event and it's costing me £5.20 a month for the summer.

Look up the countries where the platform is MTBWS TV on https://ucimtbworldseries.com/watch

VPN to one of those fine nations and pay your money. Make sure you are on the VPN whenever you connect to the site, but I watched it yesterday connected with my Ipad and using Airplay to my TV.
