Has anyone tried putting a plus sized tyre on a 25.4mm rim? Will they hold?
Thinking of trying either a WTB Trail Boss or Bridger 3.0 on my 27.5 Arch EX at the front.

There's plenty of room in the fork as it's rigid. Just thinking the extra air will gill give me a bit more cushioning along with the extra grip.

A mate has a Nobby Nic 2.8 on a normal rim (forget which one, but its stock 27.5, on a 2014 enduro evo) and he loves it, even if he's struggling to grasp that he needs less pressure in than he runs normally. Which is way too high anyway (40+ psi....)

I run 29x3" on 35mm rims which has been great - I'm not sure I'd want to go any narrower as the only way you'd get the tyre to stay / remain stable on a skinny rim is to increase the pressure - which kinda defeats the point of wider tyres.

I run 3.0 Bridgers on 30mm internal rims. Run just fine.

I ran a 2.8 Trailblazer on a 23mm rim, on the back.
It was ok but squirmed a lot at low pressure.
Lots better on a Dually.
