My Pikes developed an alarming amount of play yesterday (454 dual air u-turn). Not laterally or fore-aft so I thinkk the bushes are fine, this is up and down. If you lift the bike by the stem I can feel it lift a few mms before the forks top out, I can manage this with more negative air, but that isnt right... I guess there's some sort of bumper that has failed?
Thing in, we're going on a riding holiday on thursday and TFT are fully booked. I'm going to speak to Fisher on monday, but can anyone recommend a good LBS near Bristol?
Alternatively, has anyone else experienced this and know what the cure is?
cheers
Worst comes to the worst, service them yourself:

Spares at CRC
There are loads of youtube guides around as well.
I'd have a go at a standard bushes and seals service, but not so sure about this. The Mud Dock mechanic didnt look impressed at the state of them, doesnt give me confidence that I can order the correct parts and service DIY style before thursday.
Have you tryed begging Tim at TFT
roughnect - just done it, fingers crossed everything now ok!
BTW - so much for Rockshox reliability, I've now had serious problems with 2 sets of Pikes in the last year or so.

nothing to worry about - its a slight amount of free vertical play in the u-turn mechanism itself, and is experienced on both the Pike Coil and Air U-Turn forks
its not something you will notice riding with the fork loaded with weight
esher - interesting.... definitely become more noticable recently and turned into a real knocking sound and feel on steep climbs with the front unweighted. Maybe getting paranoid with the long bike trip coming up?
But, Ms AD also has 454 Pikes and the movement isnt noticeable on hers.
