[#7279566]

As above, hunting around for some second-hand, but fresher than my 2010 36's forks for my 2013 Cove G-Spot.

Pike's seem the defacto choice, but they're 'only' 32mm - would they be noticably more flexy than my 36s?

Are Lyriks like Pikes only bigger? I like the idea of bottomless tokens for tuning etc.

New Pikes are 35mm, which is the same as the Lyrik, but the Pikes are massively lighter.

With the old models, Pikes are a pretty ancient design- they never got anything better than the old Motion Control damper so that's about 2009 tech, or what you get in cheap Sektors. They never released an old 32mm Pike with the later dampers that you can get in Revelations. But the Rev is a less sturdy fork.

Old Lyriks came with various but the mission control damper is a lot better than the motion control, it's closely based on the boxxer dampers from the team and world cup forks and that was still rockshox' top end til last year. But they are hefty. Avoid, at all costs, 2-step Lyrik airs, they are proper shit.

And no tokens with either!

New ones are completley different beasts, just hte names that are the same. I reckon the highest end of the old coil Lyriks, are just as good forks as the new Pikes though- they're much heavier but sturdier and IMO perform a little better.

The old Pikes are away off behind those.

New Lyriks are ~150g heavier aren't they?

I've no idea about RS forks and I think it shows...

I've been looking for some 12 month old ish forks - I'm on the 'old' 26" wheel standard so the latest ones aren't available for me.

I was thinking of something like this (but with a slightly longer steerer tube).

Are these old, new or other?

Typical left field stw suggestion here but if your Fox 36 chassis is okay and you just want improved damping, have you considered fitting an avalanche damper?

Sadly the only decent part left on my forks is the damper, I had a FIT upgrade 18 months ago at Loco.

I bought a pair of new 26" Pikes earlier this year, £330 from Alltricks. They've gone up in price now.

Although Lyriks are cheap, but heavy - over 0.5kg heavier than Pikes...

Downgrade imo. But I don't think most people agree 😆

Thought I'd update.

Bought a set of 12 month old Lyrik RC2 DH forks and I'm very happy with them, still getting the set-up right but they're much stiffer than my old 36s. They were great out of the box at BPW but need more work to get right on slower/more tech stuff.

Just get 650b pikes. I ran a set on my 26" wheeled reign for a while as i didn't want to spend money on something i might need to change sometime soonish. They felt great with that setup. You'll get a used pair no bother
